Alphadeus
Hello. I joined this site maybe 2 days ago. I've known about it for a long time but I never really considered the idea of remixing VGM seriously. I briefly looked in the request section to see if I could challenge myself and/or learn more about music-making in the process and came across a request for Area 88 Thundercloud. I'm a fan of the music from UN Squadron so I decided to try to take it on. I've only been working on it a few hours between the last 2 days and I'm not exactly sure where I want to go with the song, but I'd like some feedback on what I have so far. I only laid out the first "half" of the song so far. I'm mainly just laying down the main parts and trying to figure out ways to make things different enough to possibly get on the site right now. The final song could sound completely different from this based on personal feelings and feedback from this thread. Area 88 - ThunderCloud Remix (Work in Progress by Alphadeus) Original Version on YouTube (as linked by requester) Thanks for listening. linkspast
from the point of view from someone who has no musical talent.... I like it but I feel like the guitar needs to be more fleshed out.. maybe... also im sure you are probably going to fix the end, and its a bit short. but Its from one of my favorite games so Do it justice! Alphadeus
Hello I'm going to replace the guitars with more realistic sounding ones when I figure out what I want to do with all the instrumentation. I like to start with basic leads and such to get an idea of where I should go. It's only half done I was only able to put together the first half before the original song changes. I haven't decided on what I want to do with that part either, I was thinking of letting the piano take lead while other instruments work in the background. Thanks for taking the time to listen
