Lava Reef - Remix [S3]

Ok, so I did this remix of Lava Reef Zone from Sonic 3 one month ago and I decided to post it here. I really want to improve my mixing so that's why I'm asking for critics, feedback... and tips for mixing

Your stuttering lead synth tends to get annoying after a while and it doesn't really work for the melody, I would definitely change it up and use that synth for support instead of as a lead. The other noticeable synth that you've got (the one that becomes prominent around :10) would be very well suited for a lead and would be a much more interesting choice.

Other than that, the rest of the song isn't too bad but it needs some expansion. Change up your sound choices every once and a while and keep experimenting with those glitch effects, they sound nice

really liked the opening sequence with the pulsing and portamento synths. i agree with emu that this needs a more expressive lead. that stuttered synth doesn't really work with the melody, though you could probably push it into the background to keep the groove and layer another synth on top. cool glitchy drums, though i think they could be a little crunchier, to accommodate the glitchy effects. perhaps try running them through a light distortion or bitcrushing plugin and see what kinds of sounds you can come up with

I did some minor edits, including an outro, added a bit more variation to the song and edited some effects to match the new lead.
