Anti-Syne
This is really fuckin' cool. What program(s) did you use to make the song? Cheers, it was made mostly on Logic using samplers, synths and ultrabeat
ambinate
Wow, really? Were you using the kits that come with Logic? I just started learning how to use Logic but I have no idea how to make glitched out stuff like that.
Anti-Syne
well some of the drum sounds are samples of doors slamming, but to get that glitched sound I made drum sounds using the ultrabeat drum synth, bit crushed them and basically just sequenced them to play really quick with varying velocities, I also used an FM synth to add to those glitches by making a simple FM tone then playing it really low so that you can hear the modulation between the fequencies, making that buzz sort of sound. Oh and finally it's in 16/4 time just because i find it easier to play around with timings that way, i.e. there's some parts where it goes something like 3/4 then 2/4 then 3/4 then 5/4 then 3/4 or something like that all within one 16 beat bar. Alternatively, If you're looking to make glitch sounds eaily then you'll really want to look at this http://illformed.org/plugins/glitch/, it only works on pc as far as i know so i didnt use it in this composition. but it's an incredible plugin considering it's free, I used it in cubase. demo of it here:
ambinate
Oh, man. I would've never been able to figure all that out, haha. The bitcrushing was done in Logic, too? Thanks a ton for all the information. I really appreciate it, since I'm trying to get a decent start with the program now.
Anti-Syne
yep bitcrushed in logic too. Anyway it's no problem, send me a message if you need anymore help, I'm no expert on logic, but i've been using it for the last two years for all my academic work so hopefully i'll know something
