Jonah-B
Link to Shadowgate Nightmare: http://soundcloud.com/jonah-b/shadowgate-nightmare-v2 Alternate link: http://tindeck.com/listen/nbne This is a remix of songs from the NES classic "Shadowgate." I've been wanting to remix this game for quiet awhile. I've been putting it off because I wasn't sure if I was capable of pulling off what I wanted to do with it. I finally took a stab at it and I'm pretty happy with the result. At ten minutes long this is the longest mix I've ever done. It uses five tracks from the game to retell the story of Shadowgate. Though the game's composer was never credited, fans often assume the composer was Kouji Nishikawa, so credit for this piece goes to him as well. I'm going to submit this to OCRemix for review, but first I would like to hear some feedback from you guys so I can decide rather or not this is the final version. Here are some links to the original tracks that I remixed if you're interested in comparing: Title Screen: Castle Halls: Subterranean Cavern: Hero of Stormhaven (Ending) Game Over ... Jonah-B
I'm thinking about cutting the entire Subterranean Caverns section out for the OCR submission. The length of the piece is stopping some people from listening to the whole thing. Removing this section would reduce the length by about two and a half minutes. I feel this is the weakest part of the mix anyway so cutting it out will probably improve it's chances on the judges panel.
Jonah-B
Shadowgate Nightmare Version 2: http://soundcloud.com/jonah-b/shadowgate-nightmare Alternate link: http://tindeck.com/listen/dgjb I chopped out the Subterranean Caverns part and improved on some small stuff. The piece is now 7:40, which is a bit more of a reasonable length. I haven't gotten much feedback on this piece in any of the places I've shared it so I think I'll just go ahead and submit it and hope for the best. -Thanks to anyone that gave my mix a listen!
