Ostil
Hi, I've browsed these website for a long time now, but never bothered making an account haha... Never too late! I really don't have any experience with recording music and sound production. For a while now I've just been using Reason 5 to do direct input from my piano. But here's a Legend of Zelda medley I did containing 5 songs from the series (first 5 that popped into my head haha...should have included Dark World). Let me know what you think, and tips are appreciated.
Nostalvania
Very nice, great playing! In terms of dynamics, I think from the second half (4:09) almost everything is pretty loud which could be a bit tiring for the listener. Overall nice work, congrats. Infenro
I don't much about performance, but I can definitely tell you I adore your performance. I would listen to this all the time in my car going to work. From what I can tell you have some great piano chops. I think it's a nice celebration of all the great melodies from Zelda (which I also adore Zelda lol). Great work!
Ostil
I'm glad you enjoyed it! As for the dynamics, I totally agree. I wanted to really end it epically (in my opinion haha), but I knew it would probably end up being too noisy. All that reverb, sustain and volume just really builds up. Thanks. Infenro
Personally I liked it, I guess it did seem to be hitting too much of a wall. I've noticed most classical pieces tend to be really quiet so that when they get louder it's not hitting a wall of noise like most popular songs today. It seemed like you hit your limit when you did song of storms, which didn't help the ending seem as dramatic.
electric concerto
Just... Oh, and Only complaint I have... sorry... Anyway, I don't want to be a stone in this glass slipper, but something about the high end is killing this masterpiece... I think piano music like this needs to be more warm, and the high end is poking at my sides like a sharp stick. But other than that... :D:D:D
Darangen
You've got some real talent! This is a really nice arrangement, kudos I think the samples are holding it back a little, especially when it gets louder - you can really hear the harsher high end.
