Impact Soundworks has just released a new sample library, which I actually did *not* design myself; though I supervised and directed it, the concept was done by sound designer Ali Lacey, and editing/scripting by Iain Morland. The end result is really cool and I think this will find its way into some of my upcoming remixes thanks to all the interesting atmospheric sounds...

Impact Soundworks is proud to announce the release of CURIO, a new virtual instrument for KONTAKT 4+ custom-tailored for film, TV, and game composers. Much like our well-loved Resonance library, CURIO (designed & recorded by Ali Lacey) is based on deep-sampled acoustic material (a miniature toy piano) performed in a multitude of fashions, then deconstructed, prepared, and 'designed' using both acoustic and post-production synthesis/processing techniques.

The result is an incredibly unique sampled instrument that goes far beyond a typical sampled toy/mini piano. From ethereal plucks and mallets to a surprising array of percussive hits, taps, ratchets, airy textures, tonal and atonal swells, bows, and sound design elements, CURIO is a treasure trove of material that will inspire your creativity and enhance your palette.
