Problem with "go advanced" button

When I try to click the "go advanced" section of the first post in my thread (to change the status) it just gives me a message that I need to select a post to quick reply to and doesn't let me change it.

(Moderator Flexstyle was kind enough to change it for me but suggested I post here)
