Ronyn
I know this mix kinda died, but I'm determined to complete it... http://www.jamesgeorgemusicandsound.com/files/darkgaia1.mp3 I'm still debating if I'm going to use compression or not, I know I should to really heat up the guitar tracks, but once I do all the orchestral stuff is gonna get buried. Any ideas? I know the guitar sounds a little synthetic, but hopefully it's acceptable. I'm probably going to add Reason to this at the end and put in some funky drum tracks, so if it seems a tad non-percussive don't worry. This not close to done, but how's the sound? Works? Decent? Crap? Be honest
avaris
The basic ideas sound good. I'd go with some distorted guitar in the lower ranges and then let your orchestral goodness reign over the top. Then for a climax section you could have the guitar go into the upper ranges with some booming brass underneath. The build up sounds good, have to wait and see how it sounds once everything kicks in. Some dirty beats done in Reason would go really well in this once everything kicks in.
