  1. June is (End) Boss Month shouldn't really be a quirk unless if it keeps on sticking...which will take more time to tell. At some point there was discussion on having a specific theme for each month other than the holidays and what the sig-makers like to do at each of those times, but that's not quite OCR specific.

    Eh, 2 years.

That's sticky enough for the internet.

  2. Yeah, clearly all desktop musicians have to do is "press buttons." This comments only shows there are still ignorant listeners out there who don't know anything about what makes good music.

    Ooh-hoo, defensive?

To be fair, that is all you have to do. Granted, he's downplaying the time it takes you to do it properly, but if you're sequencing on the computer, you have all the time in the world. Playing a live track, you're constricted by time.

I'm not saying one requires more skill or talent than the other, just that time isn't necessarily a factor if you're creating music on your computer.

  3. Interesting question... I'm not really sure where to begin (it doesn't have a Wikipedia entry). It descends from Shotokan which, according to its own Wikipedia entry, is usually divided into three parts: kihon (basics), kata (forms or patterns of moves), and kumite (sparring). That's more or less how we work, except we also work with street defense, Arnis sticks and some very basic groundfighting (though a jujitsu club will be starting up next semester... I'm going to try and partake in that as well). I have a black belt shotokan friend who sometimes shows up to keep in shape, and one big difference is that my instructor always tells us to keep our guard fist next to our head, while in Shotokan the guard fist is always at the stomach (hari). That is our Chidokwan in a nutshell.

    Hm

I take shotokan, and have for a few years now.

We typically have our back arm/fist covering out solar plexus, and out front basically going from there to our throat. Obviously, if attacked, it's easy enough to shift it upwards to block our face or downwards for our chest.

Thats how WE do it anyways.

  4. Ha, guys.

They've stopped offering ANY details on when trucks carrying Wiis will be out and about and what their routes are.

Apparently in Toronto a little while ago, someone tried to hijack a Wii truck at gunpoint. [not sure if it was successful or not].

Saw this in The Sun, so I'm sure you could get details from their site if you wanted to.

But seriously, hijacking a wii truck.

    That's awesome.

  5. Some good shit last night.

Played with redchlorine, Stryker, Icy and Enn..and..well, that was mostly it, I guess.

Or did toothy end up joining us for a bit? I don't remember.

Deimos was AceCombatSnobbing it up, and Xeno was busy with Boom Boom Rocket, but regardless, some good matches were had.

And a whole lot of Infection.

    It was a triumph.

  6. I think, though, that somethink like, Guitar Hero 3, for a recent example, warrants a multi-platform release.

Course, I'm still trying to get it for the 360, cause I love my sweet sweet nerd points, but regardless, some titles should be on the majority of consoles, I think.

  7. You had said that Kung Fu lost pretty hard in that National Geographic special, and then BlueMage asked what style of Kung Fu. Basically, I was bringing up old shit. My apologies for the confusion, sir.

May I say it's awesome to see a few serious ninjitsu practitioners in here. God I want to learn that stuff but bad. What do you guys thing of Stephen Hayes?

Uh, that was me that said it lost pretty hard.

I'm not sure it specified, but I THINK it was Shaolin kung fu. Can't be sure about that though.

But they measured impacts of the strongest punches and kicks and whatnot, and the kung fu guy came in last for every test, if I recall correctly. If not last, near for sure.

Side note: that section on drunken boxing was pretty epic.
