  1. We need some spleef fields. Don't know what spleef is? Look it up, basically it's a battle where you try to dig out the floor beneath your opponent on a given field. I've been watching them have spleef tournaments on discovr.us and I think it would be a fun addition.

  2. It's crap like this that makes me glad I'm not playing regularly with you guys. Taking things too seriously leads to fatigue leads to anger and a lack of desire to play any longer.

I quit playing dota cause of in-game blame game shit. I had to ask myself whether playing dota was more important than retaining a good friendship, which of course wasn't the case. Since switching over to The Shizz I've enjoyed the game a million times over, even in losses. I guess that's because of camaraderie though.

If you want to be super serious about everything, especially in a non-scrim, non-league game, let everyone know that ahead of time. Then if things don't go your way, you know to look over the game and take from it what you can to improve and better compete the next time. If you want to be super serious when people just want to relax and play some co-op video games (albeit ones that require a bit of concentration and active thinking & hand/eye coordination) then you're in the wrong place.

  3. Hacky sack

    Ramune lychee flavor drink

    Korg tuner

    Wasabi peas

    Flannel shirt

    Belt

Beaded pixel art (see my thread)

    Sushi-making kit w/book and DVD

and of course a little money (though that is offset by the money I spent on replacing a dead laptop battery and power supply)

  4. Okay, time for a bump!

My friend James decided to do beadsprite projects as Christmas presents for many of his friends. For the most part he did a "versus" theme, although for mine he decided to go a little differently.

As I get pictures of the others I'll put them up; all of them are really great looking. My personal favorite (excluding this one he made for me) was the SF2 Ryu vs Ken.

LuketheXJesse asked: Who made these? Almost all were done by my friend James (http://atimewellwasted.com)

  5. Zero, I know you're antigrav ingame, but we don't play with you that often lately (I guess you've been playing dragon age or tf2 or something?) so I didn't include you. Everyone's familiar with your skill at the game and that means people instantly assume you will take the leader role. My statement was more for people at the tier below you (no offense to anybody)

  6. I admit to raining on people's parties from time to time. I'll have a good game and follow it up with an atrocity, giving up midway and just making it that much worse for everyone. Or like when Bahamut mentioned the game going well up to a point and then something ridiculous happening, I can definitely account for that.

Sorry guys if I've trampled on your feelings or made you feel like you wasted your time playing the inhouse games. Like Zero I don't let the game affect my mood, but I can totally understand the actions of one player leading to others feeling miffed.

I'm also the one who suggested that Luke stick to a few heroes. I hope you don't read that as "if you don't play something you know well, don't bother playing" because that is not my intention. When you're learning it can be greatly beneficial to go into the training mode and see what each hero's abilities do and how that changes based on levels and equipment and such. There's a big difference between 30% life left on TDL compared to KotF and what might otherwise demolish the TDL leaves nary a scratch on the intrepid tree.

I might be going way off topic there. I like taking leadership roles in the game but also work well with people telling me what we should be doing. Even if you're not sure of yourself and you lead your team into the hands of the enemy, you learn. Everybody should try to step up into the leader role from time to time so it isn't always just Zircon or Tensei or Bardic. There's no time like the present to try.

And getting a mic and using it goes a long way.

  7. Hood can also be built from the lifetube (replacing the two regen things) so the next time you think about buying that beast heart, pick up the helm of the victim instead and with a piece of magic armor you have your headdress.

Not to mention that hood can be upgraded to pipe (that is, barrier idol) with another 1603 if you so choose. Think about your team!
