This was pretty stream-of-consciousness, so forgive the obscurity of it all. But, I guess that's what free-form is for, right?
Anyway:
MealtimeWe had finished our prayers and I opened my eyes and stared down at my plate. A chicken sandwich sat there at the end of it, smoldering in a yellow cheese which dripped off the sides of the patty. It's bun was covered in Sesame seeds and was dented in a little bit from where I had poked it out of boredom a minute before. To the side of that was a green bean casserole steeped in a pungent mayonaise. The little green beans and crunchy offerings which poked out of it looked small, and utterly overwhelmed by the monstrous glob of white garnishing which I should think was a few years past its prime by the surreal scent it exuded. In any case, I could tell that it was cold, and I wasn't looking very much forward to that edge of the meal.
But searching inbetween the two lots I found something much more to my liking. It was as if I'd turned a corner suddenly, whilst lost and afraid, in a distant land, hungry and seeking refuge, and then before me had risen a bright and glorious citadel whose façade bore my name in letters, emblazoned as if burning by the fires of heaven. And there had been feasting in abundance, and service, and goodwill toward all. It was like that.
It was like that when I turned my beady little eyes to the center of the plate and beheld, soaking in their warm, brown juices, the petite mound of beans which had been serviced onto my plate, so as to play the part of the third piece of my meal. At that moment, it was all I could do to not flood my plate in a cascade of bewildered, anticipatory salivation.
I could not hope to take it all in. Then, in an instant, the plate disappeared from my view, and all that remained were the beans, spreading out from their epicenter, settling onto the plate, slowly, but surely. They took hold of my senses and tore from my mind the remembrance of things past. The sandwich and that wretched casserole were finished. They no longer held any place in my life. I was slowly descending into it- becoming one with sacred legumes. I couldn't stop it. I didn't want to stop it.
Then the episodes of my life flashed, like the blink of an eye, before me. The darkness crept in from around the corners and inched forward, curling into the center of my vision. The shroud came down, and all was over.

Final Fantasy VI is your best bet. It really doesn't have any weak points. Final Fantasy 1 can be fun too, as long as you don't expect it to knock your socks off.
-
You mean Christmas Sailing? It's up there under the other category
Yeah, that's the one I meant. I don't know how I could have missed it up there.

He did some of my favorite stuff. What a bummer.

Wasn't there a holiday remix of the ship theme from the original Final Fantasy?

Hey, I'm working on something! Hopefully, I'll be able to finish it by the end of this month.
-
Very, very good. This is a keeper.

I'm thinking about buying a new PC, but I don't know whether I should get one with Vista or XP pre-installed. A few of my friends have Vista and they all say they hate it because it's a memory hog, it's buggy, etc.
Is Vista really so bad that I should spend my money on a PC with XP instead? Or has Vista just not come of age yet?

I haven't donated anything this year.
Money's a little tight. But I have been volunteering in various places. Later this month I'll be heading over to the Samaritan's Purse warehouse in Atlanta to help with Operation Christmas Child.

Thank you Doulifée.
Nice idea with that last badge, by the way.

Nice work, Imagery!

I would do something like this, but there's no way I could round-up enough people.
It's Team Fortress 2, by the way, for those who don't know.

Try this trick as it may help you...

A while back I kept getting errors to where when I have the high quality settings turned on for the games they would crash in a matter of minutes.
ESPECIALLY HL2: Ep1
So in my search to find a solution I found this on another forum which for me actually worked.
--- --- ---
Start Menu > Run > regedit
Surf down to this key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management
Double click on "PagedPoolSize". Hexadecimal is listed first. Change the "Value Data" to one of these below:
(Note: You only need to enter EITHER Hexadecimal or Decimal. They both are the same.)
Megabytes Hexadecimal Decimal
192Mb 0c000000 201326592
256Mb 10000000 268435456
384Mb 18000000 402653184
I went with the 384Mb option
Once I was done I made sure to reboot my computer.
--- --- ---
When I tried the game again it ran flawlessly as well as all of the source games.
If any of you guys encounter an error referring to something about DX8 Index buffer or something like that, try that solution as it may help
What exactly does this do?

Do you think anyone else will vote? If there are other people out there who are willing to vote, then let them vote I say. But there was a pretty long voting stage already. If no one's contacted to vote, then there's a pretty slim chance that somebody's just going to prance onto this thread in the next couple days and cast a vote.
-
Is there any way we could get those results, G_D?
Not trying to be a cramp, just reminding.
-
Taken. Good luck with your project.

Can anyone tell me why most of gametrailers doesn't work? I get the player on the page, but it remains black and nothing plays. I'm forced to watch this video on youtube.
I'm having the same problem. I can't get it to work in Firefox or IE.
-
I need to get this game.
-
I just finished listening through the score. It's one of the best I've heard in a while. Optimus, Bumblebee, The All Spark, and Arrival to Earth are really doing it for me.
-
I'm going to get around to voting in the next few days- As soon as I can. I'm a little busy right now...
Edit: voted.

Thanks Zircon, I hadn't heard of SSH but I just found his version of decisive battle from final fantasy 6 and it's just what I was looking for. Also, I'll agree that star ocean and xenosaga both have great soundtracks, though I haven't played either. I'd suggest the Tales games as well if you like those. Also can't forget Chrono Cross (best opening I've ever heard, that violin in the background ROCKS). If anyone knows of anything similar to SSH please post.
Here's a link to The Decisive Battle -

Very postmodern.

I've heard about that before. I have a friend who has played through every Tales game probably two or three times a piece, and he's always raving about the Tales of Fandom series because they use characters from all the different Tales games.

That's so annoying to me. I guess it could be considered flattery, but the guys who start saying that sort of stuff just never shut up.
