    Now HERE was a true comedian, who lacked the fear of saying what he wanted to and didn't bother with political correctness or general opinion. Few would be in the business if he hadn't stepped forward and flipped the bird.

    I hope you understood that when I said "capcom doesnt make fighting games anymore" I mean't that yes they do infact make games which people are duped into believing are fighting games because they have the street fighter logo on them but in reality, someone in japan maps out controls to a bunch of prerendered animations (case in point: any person with a big gun that flashes the entire screen or anyone who calls a jet on their radio to drop bombs on the arena) that were thrown together the day before, and puts a pretty background behind them. Guns dont belong in fighting games period.

    Did you only ever play Marvel vs Capcom or something? You didn't even mention Third Strike, which by and far was their finest SF game to date.

    That you think Namco, known for terrible imbalances in their games, is better than Capcom invalidates most of your argument. They have far, faaaar more experience with fighting games, having released many titles over the past 20 years for a variety of series.

    Namco has what, two? And they even fuck them up? Please.

    Also: I'm getting the books lent to me via a friend today, and I'm going to endeavor to enjoy these books. However, if it really IS as anti-christian as some make it out to be, then I dunno. I'm not a big fan of getting a message slammed into my face at every page; thats just ham-fisted nonsense, y'know?

    Plus, I need SOMETHING to read until George R.R. Martin stops watching football and finishes his next goddamn book already.

    No way, Castlevania 64 is a pretty neat game. You just gotta give it a chance.

    And wasn't IGA planning on a new 2-d Castlevania game for DS after he finished Dracula X on PSP?

    I DID give it a chance, even going so far as beating it with both characters. That damnable camera (or lack thereof) and faulty lock-on function made getting through it rather infuriating. The other CV game for the 64 might be better; I gotta track down a copy.

    I hope IGA does another DS game. Portrait of Ruin was great, even if the art style took a bit of a nose dive. I hope for a better multiplayer function next time around, though--like a co-op mode through the castle proper instead of a boss rush mode rehashed.

    Well, since this is now a Castlevania thread...

    I picked up SotN on XBLA today, and I'm totally loving it so far. It's been far too long since I've played a 2D game this good. It also makes me very sad that a new 2D Metroid seems pretty unlikely. Anyone else pick this up? I'm sure this is old news by now, but still, trying to start some conversation here.

    Protip: Fear the Schmoo.

    Also, another 2-D Metroid would be love, but it seems that Nintendo prefers to push the first person angle. Which I'm feeling a bit...I dunno, wary about. The Prime games for the 'Cube were excellent, but Prime Hunters left a sour taste in my mouth. At the very LEAST, they could continue on after Fusion.

    On a CV-related note, I grabbed Castlevania 64 the other day out of morbid curiosity and a drive to collect a copy of every Castlevania game. Jesus CHRIST that game is horrible.

    Yay! Thanks man.

    I'm ashamed as a gamer to say that I've never played a Chrono game. I really wish I could get my hands on a cartridge or they'd release for VC.... because I refuse to play a ROM of it.

    They DID release it on the PS1, y'know. Same game, but with a new game+ added to it and slower combat loading times. Oh god the loading time...

    Did this thread make anybody else pop their Earthbound cartridge in and start playing the damn thing again?

    Earthbound is the 16-bit version of Deus Ex. Every time its mentioned, someone starts playing it again.

    Can we combine games from Konami as part of one picture?

    Reason I ask is, because I remember seeing some pictures a couple of years back with the best two Konami-game combination: Contra and Castlevania. The idea was made of exploration and SHOOTAN GAEM, and I've been in love with the concept since.
