  1. I don't have a copy of MS Project, but on OpenProj my WBS automatically was created like what you have shown when I input the hierarchy. In order to make it show up like that, I made the successive tasks dependent on each other going down the chain; I've attached a .xml export of the test project I created if you want to import it into MS Project and see what I've done. I will double-check with MS Project when I get into the lab this afternoon. As to your other problem, I'll have to wait until I can access MS Project to experiment with that.

  2. I go there when I need an audio track that's not necessarily video game related. For example, I'm using Paid in Blood for a trailer I'm creating right now. I've actually also used your 'Rage of the Champions' track in another video production of mine, MaestroRage.

Good to see moderators reaching out to crack down on plagiarism, and the support of this community even if the original tracks in question aren't from here.

    Gold star for Dhsu. :nicework:

  3. Well I woke up at 3 to catch the end of tonight's shower. Saw a few, more than I thought I would given the light pollution from the streetlights. Now back to bed so I can manage to make it through another 10 hour day without falling asleep at my desk.

I went out to a field with no lights whatsoever for last year's shower when I didn't have to work in the morning. Saw some really colorful ones there.

  4. I wrote a fan fiction novella (though in terms of word count it's on the high end of the novella spectrum) 4 or 5 years ago based on the Earth and Beyond universe. It was admittedly bad and had many poor tie-ins (i.e. a Lord of the Rings style plot device...*facepalm*), but at least the people reading it at the time didn't think it was garbage. Here's a small sample of one of the better parts, I think.

Three men—two shorter ones and a taller, stronger looking one with a large mustache—led Grisham down the halls, finally to a door. Mustache said, “Miguel will now see you, follow us.” He opened the door and walked in, Grisham followed shortly behind into the room. Once in he noticed that the room was rather bland for the supposed leader of the Chavez, not like the room he had seen Tzu in on the La’Mong. Why is this room so horribly decorated? Grisham examined the room a little more, noticing a stain on the floor. Is that…blood? Grisham turned around in time to just see one of the two short men close the door behind him, and he heard locks click into place. Uh oh, not good. Grisham turned to face Mustache again, who was now wielding some sort of metallic bar. Grisham looked around for anything to defend himself with, but there was nothing of use.

I can never figure out how I had the time for this kind of stuff back then...I certainly don't have much of that free time now. I also wrote a fan fiction piece for Worms (the original, because it was that awesome)...but that was well over 10 years ago, and strains the boundaries of credulity, to say the least.

  5. Counting down the days until I go see it on IMAX. Also,

Heath Ledger's state of mind before his death has been defended by his "The Dark Knight" co-stars, who claim he was the perfect father to daughter Matilda.

Reports that Ledger had become maniacal after filming the new Batman movie, in which he plays The Joker, have been blasted by those who worked with him shortly before his death.

Gary Oldman, who plays Lt. Jim Gordon in the film, reveals that, while filming Ledger was in high spirits, and slammed reports that he had mood swings, sleeping problems and difficult relationships with other cast members.

Oldman tells People.com, "Because he died people want a dark story (that) he was so obsessed with the character, he was so contaminated by the Joker and he couldn't sleep and all of that stuff.

"(But) in between takes he would sit on the curbside and smoke a cigarette and laugh and talk about his daughter Matilda. I thought he was just a beautiful kid. I thought he was just wonderful. I had a real affection for him."

And far from being unbalanced, Ledger would constantly gush about his 2-year-old daughter, Matilda, his child with actress Michelle Williams.

"Heath showed me pictures of (Matilda). (He) would come in and say she did this and she did that," reveals Aaron Eckhart, who plays District Attorney Harvey Dent in the sequel.

But Ledger was also passionate about his role in the film, and put all his energy into perfecting the part.

Eckhart adds, "He really created his look. That character, Heath loved so much. He really cared about the Joker."

  6. The information you seek, as of 3 weeks ago, lies below

We raised about $2400, which translates to 8 months of hosting. Of course, we've still got the (fading) google ads, and the more people use our Amazon store, Zzounds, and buy shirts, the better.

Bottom line: This was a huge success, I owe Jimmy big time, we should be really solid for 2008, and I'm not biting my nails. Well, I am, but now it's more over site development projects than funding.

That being said, it's not like we raised $10,000 and are set forever; I'm still going to be looking into better, more relevant advertising for the site, we still need folks to use the Amazon store when they can (and Zzounds), we've still got a lot of T-shirts to sell, and so I never really consider anything 100% stable/done. Nevertheless, April was awesome, and puts us in a far, far better position than ever before.
