  1. 8/23 UPDATE: http://g-t.dew-owns-it.com/Sector_Slums10.mp3

I added a violin on top of lots of parts, changed a couple sections, added an entire new middle section and an ending. Didn't work on any EQing so it will still probably sound a little muddy. Comments please.

    --------------------------------------------------

Hey all, been working on this for a few days. This is kind of a chill out piece, don't really know how else to describe it. I know the bassline is pretty repetitive at some points, and I'm going to be varying it up much more. I'm also going to humanize the drums more, as they sound too mechanical at the moment.

I will probably add in another instrument or 2 at a couple points to add more variation and buff up the soundfield. The end kind of trails off as of now, and I will be adding more to this later. The master volume might be a little low at the moment and the short piano riff might be slightly too loud (Easy fixes, but my compter isn't set up at the moment). Please give this a listen and let me know what you think so far.

  2. Thanks for the comments, I'll see what I can do. As far as the transitions go, I kind of like them, but I'll see if I can change a few of them so they aren't all just tempo changes. Also, when you refer to the 3 note accident, is it a clashing of notes problem or a sloppy beat problem. I can hear a couple of intentional dissonant harmonies, but I feel like they end up resolving. If it takes away from the piece, I can change the notes around.

    Anybody else?

  3. Hey all, I was thinking about submitting this. I'm pretty much done besides a minor few tweaks (bigger crash at :34, tighten a couple parts up) unless anybody here has something to say about it. Any critique is welcome. Just wanted to make sure it was solid enough before submitting it.

This is an arrangement of the world 1-1 theme with parts of the world 2-1 theme included. I thought it would be interesting to do a 3/4 time sig changeup during different sections. I also decided to throw in various little homages to different Mario games such as Super Mario World, Yoshi's Island, SMRPG, Mario 64 (Dire dire docks), and also a quick FF4 and OOT reference.

I used mainly EWQL Orchestra Silver in Fruity Loops. Enjoy.

  4. I'm going to quote what I said on the previous page about Charlie's death, because a lot of people seem to be missing this.

As for Charlie's death, yes, he could have easily escaped and I believe he knew he could. There are two reasons he stayed. The first is that it was part of Desmond's vision that Charlie drowned and later Claire was taken off the island in the helicopter. I believe Charlie didn't want to stray from the vision since it risked the possibility of the vision changing and Claire or anybody else not being saved. The 2nd reason is because he was tired of trying to escape death. It seemed inevitable, and he might as well die for a meaningful reason.

And I still have a feeling that it was Juliette that died since Jack was so torn up about it that it pushed him to suicide. The African American community does point at Michael though, as others are saying.

  5. SPOILERS:

In regard to above theories, I would have to assume that it is Juliette that dies in the future because I honestly don't see Jack becoming suicidal over the death of anybody else besides Kate. He was beginning to fall in love with her on the island, so I believe it was her.

    Great finale though.

  6. I doubt it would be a good idea to start a project soon since there are so many in progress right now, although I was thinking the same thing earlier today since I recently started a "Dearly Beloved" arrangement.

In response to Atmuh, I have the song, and the author says RK. I'm guessing it's an abbreviation. It seems more like a remix of Simple and Clean, with a beginning that I guess might be Another Side.
