  1. The bosses in Zelda wind waker has so far been quite easy, but it was the first one I had the most problem with. I couldn't hurt him, I couldn't pierce it, I couldn't in no way make it weaker, but on the third try, that's when i got him.

I won't spoil it, but take the item you got in the dungeon and try to use it somewhere in the room. Maybe one of the most basic rules perhaps, but still.

There really aren't any difficult bosses in that game.

(Not really a spoiler but kinda)

I wouldnt classify any of the ww bosses as remotely close to "hardest all-time boss" but the final Gannondorf had such a weird way to deliver the final blow it took me a while to figure out how to finish him after I kept stunning then hitting him over and over and he just wouldn't die.

  2. I do not know whether this topic should be in Remixing or in Technical Assistance & Newbies. Move it if necessary.

I have not been able to get a signal in my sound recording programs from my E-MU 1212m's inputs. I know that the problem lies in Patchmix DSP but I can't get it to work. E-MU's site has an answer for this but I can't get their solution to work.

I am only using the 1/4" analog ports. I have my mic and preamp hooked up into right (as opposed to left) input. When I play into the mic it moves the peak meter so I know the signal is being picked up. If I add a "Send" from Wave Out to Wave (ie loopback) it works great and my programs record whatever's coming out of the speakers. If I add the same "send" from IO Card in right (where I have the mic plugged in) to wave I get nothing.

Now this is quite hard to describe and my attempt has probably confused you so allow me to add pics:

This is my setup. The peak meter for the in shows that the card's getting the signal, and the peak meter for the out shows that I'm listening to music atm :)

If I move the send from the input to the wave, recording programs record the output (what I'm listening to) just fine. I don't understand why the same send doesn't work for the inputs?

Here's another weird thing I noticed. sndvol32 can't edit shit on this card.

The only other device I can select is my onboard card, which has ok output but abysmal recording quality.

    E-MU's solution is found here

I can't follow it because I don't have those options in my menus. Here is what I have for host outputs (rest of window unchanged from last screenshot):

What's going on here? Anyone understand this software?

  3. All-time hardest boss of ANY game, I would say Overlord Mata Muram in Everquest.

I'll try to find a good writeup on his encounter as most people here wouldn't know WTF I'm talking about.

Edit: I wavebuster'd ridley's second form when I felt like being cheap, ha!

  4. The hardest boss for me would have to be Miguel in Chrono Cross. Of course, that's because I have two black innates in the party and his two whitey spells in a row usually kill both of them immediately.
Miguel didn't give me too much trouble. Yeah, his Holy Drag Sword would 1shot people and occasionally he would kil lynx, but not much more to it than wearing him down. Black Dragon and (believe it or not) highwayman and Hi-Ho Tank gave me more trouble than miguel. Not that they were overly hard. Chrono Cross bosses weren't that hard in general.
  5. Still need a flute / pan flute.

Also looking for a reverse cymbal that doesn't suddenly cut off (like the R. cymbal sample I'm using now, it's just a regular cymbal hit, backwards). What would be even cooler would be a reverse bass drum / snare like Iron Maiden did in their song Renegade.

  6. The cyclops in mega man 1, from one of the wily stages.

He came back in an easier form in mega man 3. Easier primarily because you could slide in MM3, and that you had a more damaging weapon (Hard knuckle).

    Wily in mega man 7.

Sigma in mega man X4 when you're zero. Just because of when he does the attack where you see a big face .. hard to hit him with a melee attack without getting hit yourself.

Funny, to me Atma Weapon in FF6 was a pushover. Didn't drain his MP either (only used osmose when I got low).

  7. Drack canned response: Don't mess with the chord progressions when the original sounds great! (Cadence point at 1:55-2:00).

This mix is great. I liked the development and arrangement. I didn't like the voice samples and some of the panning effects, but the arrangement more than makes up for it. Very full sound, and the effort shows. I didn't like how the bass synth kinda petered out before the transition to the 4:00 section. Most of your panning FX worked well, but some didn't (first half, like the voice samples). I like the way you used reverb. EXCELLENT transition into Hidden Palace at 5:00. I don't like the "bow" synth you used for the lead here, but the background instrument is perfect, it could come out some. Nice work :nicework:

    Playlisted!

  8. First off, sorry for bumping a 10 month old post.

Glad I'm not the only person who thought Wingroove was awesome for its time.

This song is great! Very original take. I think the Wingroove samples are both a minus and a plus. It gives the piece character! I like the arrangement and instrumentation as well. Nice work! :nicework:

Hmm, anyone got a Wingroove soundfont or VST I could mess with? I bought the player back in the day, and always thought its samples were among the best in the General Midi field.
