  1. Piano is implemented very nicely. The part around 2:45 goes slightly into "epic" territory, but it does not go overboard (which is good, as it would have changed the mood of the mix cosiderably otherwise). Nice ending.

I do find the beat a little too fast and loud, though. Slowing the mix down/doing without the beat (as Swanky said) might've been interesting.

  2. I realized later in the song that the openings sounded a bit sour because they were designed seemingly for the duet that happens later on. Kind of interesting really. It sounds awkward isolated, yet much better in tandem.

    Interesting thought.

In my opinion, the male vocals are overpowering the female vocals a bit during the chorus; a little more balancing would have been good.

  3. At first, I thought "This sounds like some JRPG from the 90s".

Then, "Mhm, definitely 16bit/early 32bit era".

Finally, I remembered which game the source is from, and went "Durrrrrrrrr".

Awesome, awesome remix. Love the instrumention, especially everything between 1:00 and 2:00. The choir is friggin' sweet, too.

Looking forward to hearing more from you.

  4. I'm kinda...unsatisfied by this. There's this gigantic build-up for the first minute, and when you think that it's finally going to let loose and turn into epic shreddage with a double bassline, you just get more slow stuff (starting at ~1:10).

It does pick up some energy around 1:40, but it's still not what I expected. 3:20 onwards is more in line with what I wanted out of this.

Good song, just not my cup of coffee.

  5. I downloaded a bunch of remixes, cued them up and went to hang out the laundry. When this one started playing, I was like "Yep, that has to be the one by Beckett007."

I like the singing/chanting, and how the remix goes full on movie-OST around the 1:50 mark.

Beckett's mixes are always so short. I want him to make some 7 minute epos some day, damnit.

  6. First off, we need more Amiga remixes.

As for this remix, I can definitely hear the connection to Malevolent Mansion. The breakdown in the middle is a little too long IMO, though.

Also, it would have been nice if, in the last part, where the song picks up speed again, it would speed up even further for the finale, i.e. go from fast to frantic. Just my 2 cents.

Anyway, good first remix, and I am looking forward to hearing more from you.
