  1. You guys mean he looks aryan... and I like the N64 one better.

I haven't played twilight princess yet though.

No, he looks like a Nazi, okay? If I wanted to call him an Aryan I would have, but that carries no real negative connotations, so I chose Nazi, which means he's either blond and blue-eyed, suicidal, or Hitler. Possibly a combination.

    Jeez.

  2. Here is a little story you lot will probably enjoy. I call BB to find out if they have any copies of TP for the GCN in today, which they did. So I drive down and snag the second to last copy (apparently have had 20 in at the beginning) and bought it. After going home to check up on my mother I foolishly mentioned that I had bought Zelda for the GCN. Suddenly I see this shocked look on her face and am asked, "Why did you buy that?!" "Because its been delayed for about 2 years and more than patiently waited for it?" "Well that was stupid, what if someone else bought you it already?" "Considering it JUST came out in stores today...so I'm going to guess you bought it too?" "Ordered it online."

So, to shorten up the somewhat dull tale (I suck at telling stories) I end up having my copy of Zelda confiscated till Christmas where I will be finally enjoying my purchase...Nintendo delays are one thing but come on!

  3. [/Twilight Princess]

    35 hours of pure fun.

??? I heard it was over 70 hours playtime, just at a simple run through...

    Not that 35 is bad.

Curse you international people, having it already. I gotta wait til the 7th for the Australian launch... :(

I'm pretty sure it was advertised as about 40 hours playtime on the first run, with 60-70 hours to collect everything.

And, of course, good gamers will find that developers always overestimate playtime.

  4. I am playing this game right now.

Bobber fishing is kinda difficult, but maybe that's because I'm not using bait... but I have no bottle yet <.<

    Amazing game, though.

WHERE THE HELL IS THAT KID'S MOM. TELL ME AND I WON'T KILL YOU.

NEAR THE CREEK, WONDERING ABOUT A CRADLE THAT FLOATED DOWN THE RIVER.

WAIT WHERE IS ANINYMOUSE WHAT DID DIO KILL HIM OH NO.

  5. Remember, they are reviewing it as a Wii game, not as a GCN game. As a Wii game, it has room for improvement graphically. I'd be interested to see how the GCN version does in reviews though.

Yeah, but does that mean an 8.8, especially when every other reviewing site gave it a 9.5+. Are they really saying that this game is comparable to Super Monkey Ball (8.3)and Trauma Center (8.0)?

I take this back. After going over the GS review in more detail, and looking at how the rating system works at GS I would probably score about the same on the GS system. It's more the fault of the review system than the reviewer in this case. The sound or graphic rating has an equal value to gameplay or value rating, and the overall score is based on an average of these factors. When IMO, gameplay and value should have a higher proportional impact on the score. It should also be taken into account that he did give it a 10 tilt rating.

If I were to guess my rating on the GS system, it would most likely come out like this:

    Gameplay - 10 (It's freakin' zelda)

Graphics - 9 (GC level, but good art design)

Sound - 8 (High quality midi, but still midi)

Value- 9 (Should have tons of side quests)

    Tilt - 10 (It's freakin' zelda)

    Score - 9.2

Only 0.4 points higher than the GS review.

Um, no. If it were simply an average of scores, Jeff's review actually scores Twilight Princess at 8.8. There's some additional weight involved, and your review is likely more of a 9.3-9.4 (notice that if it were simply an average, no game could ever have an odd-digited score such as a 9.9, 9.7 or 9.3, but many do). I don't care about the 8.8, but most of Jeff's gripes within the written review seem ridiculous to me and give credence to the fanboy insults about how he's a fat moron.

  6. Difficulty is pretty rough. If you go into the fjinn cave before levelling your characters up to have at least 50hp, you'll get destroyed.

I think most people would level up enough just finding out what to do to get to that point, though. I killed the Djinn out in one round with the help of one of the ice spell items, and dominated most of the other enemies because I equipped Luneth with the undead-slaying sword from the castle.

  7. I love FFIII. First thing I notice from the beautiful opening and in-game appearance is that the graphic quality definitely reminds me of the PSX era of FF. Second thing, the music is definitely great. I wish for better output quality, but as is it sounds wonderful. Also, for some reason I just love using the touch screen. If I don't have the ability to focus on tapping where I mean to it's a bit annoying and I resort to the buttons, but otherwise the touch screen just seems to make the game even more fun. Also, jobs FTW.

  8. It was released on some limited edition disc or something, right? Are those easy to find?

Relatively. If you can't find it at a local EB/GS there should be a plethora on eBay or so. Make sure you're looking for the Ocarina of Time/Master Quest set, not the Collector's Edition set, because the latter is much rarer and consequently much more expensive.
