  1. I don't know of any specific examples. Can we get on to the discussion without them please? Like I said, they are not needed at this point. I don't know the answer because if I did, I would not have made this thread.

You fail to understand. You made this thread claiming as fact that many ReMixes are based off of non-original songs from games. This is a very controversial and inherently false claim, and you have no support. What reason do we have to give any credence to your so-called discussion when it is brought about with such sloppy debate?

  2. I bought the latest one, but that was more for Timbaland than Nelly herself.

Also, news flash: samples aren't new in the world of hip-hop and pop production, and if Timbo really did sample the song it's just a background melody on the track anyway, so it detracts very little from the song.

Samples or no, Timbaland's still one of the top producers in the industry.

How much of this thread did you actually read?

  3. "Indignant and angry," ha. Internet, serious business, and all that jazz. I don't even have a piece I'm interested in submitting, so don't jump to conclusions. I'm just defending logic here.

Of course I'm saying that you should tell people right now that they have one day to finish their works. Here's why:

If you're going to ask what happens if they've been working on it since the deletion, then you ought to be asking, what happens if they've been working on it since long before the competition began, or if they merely submit an old work as a competition piece? In the creation of the current rules JamStunna and the others decided it was better to trust in participants, so why stop trusting them now? A day and a half can be a lot of time for a writer, after all, so who knows how many people had plans to submit before the deadline? Why deprive them of that chance because of a mishap?

Also, there's no reason that people who have already submitted couldn't resubmit their works as well. It would be their fault if they didn't, and just as much their fault if they hadn't been working on it since deletion as well (after all, a work is never finished, it is merely abandoned by the author). There's really no reason to protect them from what can only be their laziness or contentment and punish others for what may just as easily have been the fault of time availability or writer's block.

  4. Bullocks. You're telling me that when the trailer was aired and Spidey was wearing the Venom Symbiote people didn't know that Venom was going to be in it?

    Puh-leeeze!

The way I heard it most people thought most of the movie would be a long struggle against the influence of the Symbiote, Parker would overcome it at last, and then one of the final scenes would set Venom up for the next movie.

A comic-book film having a reasonably paced and exciting dose of villains? Never!

  5. You guys know why he's asking for hi-res photos right?

Its so he can e-mail each and every one of us from DJP's account (which he'll hack) and say he needs our passwords, then he'll link to a hi-res looking log-in site complete with google ads and everything, then just when he has everybody's password, he'll sell it to all of his spambot friends and all of us will become mindless drones! Oh the humanity!

You really aren't a good poster.

  6. ...Okay

When was the last time a game took days from your life on a set schedule because you had to either raid or do hours and hours of PvP grinding just to get decent gear? Point being is that WoW is a colossal waste of time as opposed to any other game you can pick up and play at your own leisure... but then again some of us have work and school outside of WoW, so I guess that doesn't apply to everyone.

The problem is that you are generalizing, which is an idiotic thing to do. There are people who waste away, spending all their time playing WoW, but there are people who spend all their playing other video games, watching TV, or reading shitty romance novels, none of which offer any objectively "better" rewards for devotion. Then there are the people who very easily lead normal lives while still, gasp, playing WoW, because they enjoy it. And please, don't try to feed me any crap about how "you can only be good if you spend 20 hours a week raiding for epic gear." You can say the same about StarCraft, in which you can play casual games or spend six hours a day perfecting your Zerg strategy. There will always be different consequences for different people in different situations--so don't diss the game, diss the fools who abuse and break it.

I can see this and I don't even play WoW any more. Now GTFO.
