  1. I give up.

Fate has been sabotaging my trip all year, and now the work is complete: a.) Saturday morning/afternoon's out because of my exam; b.) that schedule tells me that apart from the concerts, all the good stuff I've been looking forward to, including the panel, the meetup and the JamSpace, is on that Saturday morning/afternoon; c.) I've been told my request for that Thursday and Friday off is denied, because other co-workers have had those days since APRIL. So what's left? Late Saturday night and Sunday morning. I love you guys to death, but it's just not worth it. I'm officially out. That includes my beard.

Apologies to Kroze for the late change in plans... let me know of any cancelling troubles. Any idea, anyone, concerning a refund of the registration fee, not that I mind too much, and does anyone know how upsetting to me are these hours of suck? :-x

    Its no problem man...

I'll just have an open spot in my room for anyone who wants/needs a place!

And sorry to hear about the troubles getting off....

    Gonna miss ya there!

But at least you won't be catching any Kroze!

  2. But does it have an onboard hard drive?

I refuse to invest in a video camera until it captures in HD, writes directly to hard disk instead of some silly tape format, and has a decent battery life.

    Its the Panasonic HVX-200

    It uses nice P2 cards.

Just got finished filming my feature length movie with it....

  3. 28 degrees isn't too bad as long as the wind stays down. And I'm not a fan of precip. But those of us who've been to Bah's NYC Meetups shouldn't have a problem.

My update is as follows: I still do not know what I'll decide to do about Saturday and Sunday, because location and time of day of my civil service exam is a mystery until I receive my admission card in the mail, late next week. Disappointment is likely: the exam will probably take place morning of the 5th in the Bronx, and, apart from flying, there really isn't much FAST, early Saturday transportation from Virginia that'll get me to the exam in time. I may leave late Friday evening and not come back. I hope all the good stuff (panel, meetup, JamSpace) will be done before then. Will I miss the OneUps again?

You are still with me, right?

Bitch... Fine! I don't care. DON'T GO TO MAGFEST! JEEBUS!

At least I still have Tauce and SammyG... OH! And PEZMAN! Sex all around!

I shall have my way with Tauce when you are done with him!

  4. I didn't realize...

I PM'ed you a month ago asking what the situation was, and didn't hear from you. I'm now waiting to hear from Don to see about declining.

In other news, options may be too thin for heading back to Manhattan early on the morning of the 5th. I hope things will work out.

    Oh crap...

I didn't send you a reply to that?

    I thought I did... DOH!

I've been very scatterbrained lately so its entirely possible that I forgot to reply.

Ok, let me know whats going down

  5. So Paul, one of the top guys in the MAGFest hierarchy, was telling me the other day how disappointed he was that the Final Fantasy VI battle music had never been recorded/performed "properly (in his opinion), live," by anyone (in his experience). He states that "it is really a ska [piece], and that a band or someone should record it as such."

So I got to thinking: The theme for the logo of MAGFestVI is Final Fantasy VI - what good timing. Looking at the instrument list from you guys alone (since members like Escariot had the focus to make a list, and it's the only list of attendee equipment so far), this is increasingly becoming something that would be very doable AT JamSpace.

Does this sound like something any of you would be into? I'll be the first to admit I don't know that much about Ska, but I'm working on getting some feedback on this concept. If there is enough interest, we'll organize it as an actual "ongoing" session at JamSpace.

I was actually in a ska band for a couple years down in Florida as one of two lead singers, sadly I don't have much experience besides writing lyrics to songs and general tune BUT if I can get one of our guitar players who I am still friends with to come, he can help out with it me thinks....

He did most of the songwriting along with another guy who we are not on speaking terms with any longer.

  6. So before I get around to researching the new MAG area and the travel situation, I must let it be known I'll likely need to hook up with a group still looking for a body, because I probably cannot book a room on my own.

    Stay tuned.

Dude, I can help pay hotel for you since I still need to hook ye up from Otakon man... and I don't have a "group" yet mainly cause Taucer dumped me for someone better looking (Better looking then KROZE?!!??! I just think he's gone mad and will come to his senses soon enough.).
