  1. TBH if we get another 3rd party character besides Snake, I'd want it to be a Belmont, a Megaman or Geno long before Sonic.

    Geno...Geno...Geno!

Oh man. I would be so content If geno was in it. Although if he had the Beam move he'd just rip through everyone with 999 dmg. Man that was rigged.

Anyway, Geno was the name of the doll. His real name was like... !(star)(heart)(quarter note) .. it was just too difficult to pronounce. :-P

  2. Hey, just wanted to thank you SO much for your help with everything.

In my frustration, trying to figure out what the hell was wrong I ended up shutting down my PC. After start up and getting back at it, my sound card was suddenly recognized. ;-)

Don't know how, don't really care. It works. And I am supremely happy.

Thanks again for the time and patience. Greatly appreciated.:smile::smile:

  3. bah, thanks for your quick reply. I tried to respond earlier today, but my system went ka-put.

Anyway.. more or less along the lines of:

Now I feel reeeally stupid. Not only were the Line In and Microphone muted, and FL not in record mode... but I still don't know what to do. The Mic and Keyboard now emit sound through the system speakers, but I can't change the "In" dropdown box in the mixer from "none" to my soundcard... or either of those 2 inputs. There are no options but "none".

For the output it recognizes the soundcard however. I read the whole troubleshoot section on how to record from an external device, but everything's a dead end unless I change the "none" to one of my devices it would seem.

Any ideas?/am I doing everything wrong/missing something? lol

  4. Thank you very much! :)!!

I don't mind the over-simplification at all. In fact it's appreciated. lol

I now have the keyboard hooked up through the adapter and 1/8' to 1/8' cord (both of which I found in my house by pure chance) to my line in, and the computer recognizes that it's present.

As for getting it to correspond with FL.. I'm still gonna need a little help..

I see the MIDI input settings that Kanthos referred to... But I can't find any non-MIDI input settings (or tutorials or forums on the net). I'm sure there's a pretty simple way to get it working... but it eludes me. Anyway, thanks again for taking the time to respond Scott and Mike. Muuuch appreciated.

By the way.. my soundcard is pretty lame, and I'll probably be back here to ask advice on what kind of interface to get... eventually. Thanks for that info!

  5. I picked up what I believe to be a pretty great little second-hand keyboard.

    61 keys

    LCD screen

    built in speakers

    1/4' output and assignable jacks

    MIDI input and output jacks

    200 tones to choose from

(came with a pedal, I have an amp and a 1/4' to 1/8' jack converter)

It's got a memory and layering function, prefab rhythms, touch response, blah blah blah. I don't even know what half the stuff does or how it works yet.

ANYWAY... My problem now is, how do I connect this sucker up to my computer, and Is it compatible with FL? (if so... how do I get them working together...)

Unfortunately.. I'm a noob with the keyboard... a noob with FL... and a noob with computers. I'm in a bit of a rut.

I looked around the forums for something so basic.. but couldn't find it.. (not to my surprise). If there's already something please link me, if not I would greatly appreciate anyones help. Thank you in advance. Once again.. looking for 3 things really

    - how I should hook it up

    - what software I would need to use it

    - if FL is a compatible software, how do connect the two

    Thanks again

  6. God damn did I love Zelda II. But i never beat it and now my NES is kicking the can. I guess I'll buy for VC.... Freaking... Lava... level.. with invisible shit.... on the way to the last temple.... Gaaaaah.

  7. This suggests to me not that the amount of work involved with removals is minimal...
If there were tons of removals, I'd say it was a huge workload. Since there've been a relatively low number...

From what I understand in these two comments, there isn't alot of work currently associated with removals... but the work involved isn't minimal...

...but rather that the number of people who want to remove their mixes is relatively small, and doesn't need to be "catered" to, seeing as the rationale for removal to date has been 100% in the aforementioned categories, none of which we've indicated are persuasive.

And because there are so few remixes removed, why bother to allow the very few to be removed at all? I WOULD understand eliminating the option if it were abused. But you're saying you want to eliminate it because it isn't abused?

Looking at the past is the wrong way of addressing this policy...

As much as you're right about concentrating on the future of the site, the past is never a bad reference upon which to base future action. I'd say in this case inquiring about the current and past states of removals isn't completely trivial. I'm not trying to be a pain in the ass... but you seemed to belittle the person asking as well as the question itself.

I know... Beating a dead horse, when will it stop. I doubt you have very little interest or patience for the discussion anymore, and I'm sorry.

Like others have said. It's your site. And you can do whatever you so see fit. There's nothing unfair about that, I just don't find the arguments you produced in the past few posts to be very concrete regarding the issue.

  8. Extremely difficult, but yes it's possible. I think you can only see it coming if your computer is slow enough though.

That thing is a beast. I'm almost certain I outran it once though. I really, really miss that game. I'll probably download it now. Oh yeah, nice sig btw. :-D

Edit: It was from a downhill slalom game for PC. Forget the name however.

  9. Yeah, Tug of War was a bitch. Also, that rowing one in the liferaft.

And there was one other hand-killing minigame, but I forget what it was...

The worst one for me and my friends wasn't even a mini-game. It was the club house where you wound up the flyguy to see how many seconds he'd fly. Intense and painful competitions. As well as broken controllers as someone else pointed out.

  10. the only mario party ive ever liked was mario party 1

i enjoy a game that gives me blisters

lmao. I know a friend with a permanent scar on the palm of their hand from that. So intense.

There's one mini-game I KNOW you'd like though. You must jerk a pop can (wiimote) for 10 seconds as much as you can up and down then have it make the biggest explosion. The shorter quicker strokes work best. And having 4 guys all sitting on a chouch doing this at the same time violently, looks hilarious.

  11. Anyone have an opinion on Mario Party 8? I've seen pretty bad reviews.

Just played 5 hours with 3 other friends. Lots of fun. I find this one is better than any of the gamecube versions, not sure about them classics though. :P

I've only played the one game mode though (party). And to answer someones question, no you don't need nunchucks for party mode, but I'm pretty sure its required (or available) for one of the other game modes. There wasn't too much of a change in gameplay, aside from the majority of the mini-games being remote sensor related. The mini-games are all pretty kickass so far.

We played 2 maps, one pretty standard, the other with a REALLY cool design. Very original. The object of course is to get the most stars, but to get stars you must own hotels. There are 6 hotels around the map, and each one can be bought for as little as 1 coin. The next person however can outpay them and take possession and the star credit then belongs to them (both persons coins remain invested in the building under their names), and this continues. When a total investment from collective parties reaches 20 or 50 coins, the hotel increases to 2 and 3 star status... It gets pretty strategy based and is soooo much fun.

My only complaint is Bonus stars are no longer set! Which means even though I SMOKED everyone else in mini-games, and total coins, I got no bonus stars and LOST at the end because they're three randomized awards between (that i know of): most distance traveled, most red squares, most mini-games won, most items purchased, most items used and most coins.

lol, anyway, lots of fun so far. And likely a lot more to come for a while at least.

Link me a bad review and I'll let you know what I can agree with from it.

I still don't know anything about other game modes yet however. At least I can say its a great multi-player game, no question!

  12. Just picked up a copy of Mario Party 8. I can't play it for another 5 hours though, cuz I've got a golf tee-off time very shortly. In any case, I've already arranged 3 friends to come over to test drive the hell out of it. A 100 turn game or something sounds to be in order... if there is one. lol, it better as hell still have immediate multi player available.

  13. If this is supposed to be a tradition, shouldn't the theme for June always be end boss? If that doesn't breed enough options for people (though it should), you could just make it boss month. That would keep the end boss tradition, and open up the theme for more variety. Whatever ends up being decided on, I'm still going to use my sig from last year anyway.

After having seen the wicked stuff you've whipped up in the FACs, I'm really curious to see your sig from last year.

Oh yeah, and Bummerdude... Decide upon something please. <3

  14. When Kate said "he" would be wondering where she was, it sounded like there was a touch of fear in her voice, as though there would be consequences if she disobeyed... and given the level of desperation Jack has been driven to, I wonder if in this flash forward they aren't exactly free to live their lives as they would. Perhaps there is an undisclosed cost to their "rescue" by Naomi's crew. And perhaps, in exchange for making the decisions that led to that rescue, they allowed Jack to escape that cost--only to really give him a much harsher psychological toll, knowing that the price of his return to the rest of the world without any catches was essentially the lives of every other Lostie.

Very cool idea. Very PLAUSIBLE idea. Niiiice.

Unfortunately this thread is making very far to anxious for something starting far away.

  15. But still, pure speculation.

    Absolutely true. lol

Like I said earlier, I love the show cuz I never know what to think.

I just think that Sawyer dying isn't as fitting as Locke. And Kate would proooobably go to Sawyer's funeral. Unless of course there lots of stuff yet to happen between them. Which I'm sure there is... err... but... uh... yeah.

Edit: Maybe Kate and Sawyer are conning happily ever after!
