  1. So, I've had the desire to remix music and compose music of my own for a long time...but the only thing that's been stopping me is the fact that I do not have access to any kind of MIDI input device (no keyboard, no nothing), and I probably never will. Please don't tell me to go out and buy one, it's not that simple. I was just wondering if there is any software that lets me select instruments, and draw in the notes...like VOCALOID does.

Is there any way around my lack of a keyboard?

  2. Well bumping it with a sarcrastic comment like "well this works" sounds like giving up to me. Sorry for rubbing it in but I was just illustrating the fact that its more likely then not that requests don't get answered. There are inherently more people who say "remix this, remix that" then there are people willing to remix them.

Chicken's idea is probably your best option. You just have to find someone willing to turn your MIDI into a song, which wouldn't be SO hard. In fact I'm currently doing the same thing with someone else because I don't have any skills with orchestral production. I'm just sending them a MIDI and they fix it up.

I'll give that a try, then. Thank you both~ =]

  3. You waited 3 days before giving up?

    http://www.ocremix.org/forums/showthread.php?t=2

    Read point 5.

It might be quicker for you to actually learn to remix then it would be to wait for someone to fulfill a request. It might spark off some inspiration in someone, or point them to a song they didn't know before, but it might not. The operative word is might. It's not a case of wether or not this forum "works", and complaining about a request not being fulfilled instantly is, if anything, damamging your chances.

I've already given it as much consideration as I can, but the fact is that I don't have the technology, nor the money for the technology, to remix on my own. I have a lot of pride, and I would have much preferred to do these myself. But I can't. It's as simple as that. That wound is already salty, please don't rub it.

Not to mention, bumping up the thread with a comment rather than the word 'bump' doesn't constitute 'giving up' in my mind. No, I haven't given up, and I don't plan to give up. This game deserves a lot more credit than it has gotten in the past, and if nothing else I've at least accomplished the tiny feat of sharing it with others.

  4. Yes. There has been another Legend of Dragoon thread...but I have my own requests that I'd like to shed a little more light on--

The original tracks can be found here at Blue Laguna: http://bluelaguna.net/music/lodost/mp3s.php.

First and foremost, I'd love to hear a relaxing and powerful remix of "Royal Castle". I've heard people take a messy electronic/techno approach to this song, and I can't agree that such a style takes advantage of the great potential this song has.

I also love the sound of Lloyd's Theme, Grassy Plains, Whispering of the Trees, Forbidden Land, Dead City, and the Ending...and I don't have much of a preference of style with any of these.

Not to mention, a mix of all four "Last Battle" themes in one might be interesting. You know, one song at a time but with a nice transition into the next?

This is quite a fun game, if you have the time for the four-disc adventure.

    Thank you for your time.

  5. Oh Heavens above.

This is such torture on my little heart...! I can't listen to the new mix on this machine; I think I'm going to burst.

And I still can't get over my hopes for a "Royal Castle" mix-- my lack of technical skills be damned. I'm still sticking with my thought of either a single instrument, or an entire orchestra performing the piece, though I'm obviously open to hearing anything at all.

Much love and support to you all~ <3

  6. I lack the technical skills for a decent remix, so I'll stick to promoting the cause and supplying fan-art. It's all I'm good at. :'3

"Royal Castle" and "Ghost Ship"...? Wow; I'd never given that any thought at all. I was wanting "Royal Castle" all on its lonesome...you know, as an orchestral piece or something for a single instrument.

Oh Heavens. Can you imagine how it would sound on an armonica? You know the one, that instrument Benjamin Franklin invented? I get chills just thinking about it.

  7. Hey... I liked that music. Maybe not as a full-fledged song unto itself (that, after all, is why we remix them), but it set the mood pretty well.

Fair enough point with AC, but I was definitely thinking more along the DoC lines myself anyways.

    >: "Black Water" was the whole reason I wanted the soundtrack. After I obtained it, all of the other fantastic songs jumped out at me...but "Black Water" was the only one in the movie that stuck as I watched it.

Aside from "One-Winged Angel", of course. I know I'm being so cliche...but I thought they did a nice job with it. :'3

  8. Sorry it's taking me so long to get you the links. >_>;

I've been grounded; I'm on a different computer. *grr.*

Mmkay...I thought I'd hit another Aerith-hater. Heads would've rolled, and such. :'D I agree with you completely.

  9. LAVITZ WILL NEVER DIE!!! HE'S THE MALE HETEROSEXUAL EQUIVALENT TO AERIS, BUT ACTUALLY USEFUL TO THE PARTY!!!

ok now that i got that out of the system, i have yet to see any remix of LoD since i pretty much use this site exclusively for remixes

it would be tough to make a sequel to LoD, however i can definately see a lot of possibilities for prequels (don't get me wrong a sequel is not out of question by a long shot). i can see a prequel of the original dragon campaign, i can see alternate scenarios like a rogue wingly who wants to side with the humans, the dragoons previous to the ones mentioned (could say that the dragon chooses the dragoon) there were dragoons no one knew about (say like there were many MANY different types of dragons, but the ones that had the dragoon spirits were more easily tamed), etc.

Eee~! I always used Aerith, right up until her end, and I did just fine! >__<!!

Acutally, would THAT be a good idea for a sequal? Telling a story of, like say, that painter girl, who searches for Lavitz?

    Oooh...I'd love to read/play/whatever a sequal from Guaraha's perspective...! :'D! <3333

Do you want the three I found? They're quite good. ^_^ There's a techno remix of "Royal Castle" (which isn't really what I've been looking for. :/ ), a remix of "Wingly Forest", and one of the Mille Seseau map theme.

  10. omfg that would be awesome, 10 points on the respect score for both of you, but i'd rather see lavitz leave a bastard son, that would seem cooler to me

Thank you very much~ >D The fact that you started this thread brought me to repect you greatly from the start~ I wish there was more feedback on people promising to do remixes, though. I've had an insatiable longing for new Legend of Dragoon remixes, and after searching all over the internet, I could only find three complete ones. Any other places you suggest I could look? D:

    ...Lavitz's ship sailed away. TT__TT

  11. By the way, although it may not seem very apparent, they did sort of leave an openning for a sequal to Legend of Dragoon...for example it could be a world where the Winglies and Humans try to co-exist, but there's a whole bunch of issues between them and a big EVIL CONSPIRER, so Dart and Co. have to go and stop him... (i know, i know that's an over done plot :P)...or it could be set wayyyy in the future when a descendant of Dart has to fulfill his legacy...etc etc blah blah blah...what do you guys think? lol

I wouldn't think that it'd be way far in the distant future; that's a bit cliche. :'3 I'd make it right after the crisis, when people are weak and still trying to recover.

...but I think Albert and Miranda should have a son who is a sex-a-holic. So maybe my opinion isn't too great. xD

  12. anything i can do, like convert it to some other file or something?

    Naw, I got it to work~ :'D

    And I saw what you had posted on your other thread, about maybe using a small ensemble; that would be great, seeing as you're already off to what sounds like a great start. ^o^;

  13. Maybe this isn't the place to talk about this. Sorry if I "killed the atmosphere" here. I have been under a lot of stress lately, and it's affecting my posts' overall mood.

    D: Sorry to hear that~

Hope things start looking up for you; my life has been pretty much circling the drain for the past few days. Stress. You know. Makes everything else that used to be fun seem so foggy, doesn't it?

  14. could you just list them, i don't have something that opens rar and i have a website that has all of the tracks somewhere in the forum. I would love to here your opinion tho. Also, for those of you that are oblivous to the wip, dart's theme has been up there for about 2 days without so much as a reply.

It's absolutely killing me that I haven't been able to listen to it yet, so I'm going to see if I can right now~ My Windows Media Player has been less than reliable when dealing with .wav files. D:

  15. The boss and battle music isn't bad either :D just anything BUT the "Forbidden Land battle music" god that was horridly repedetive and cheesy lol

Ahahaha. >D! I particularly liked that one, though I give you points because it was a little repetitious.

Wouldn't it be awesome if someone did a mix of all four Final Boss themes put together? O:

  16. I didn't mean it as a bad thing, at all. ^_^

It's strangely close to the name of a friend of mine that I haven't seen in a few years. So my predisposed bias towards you is actually quite good. ;D Unless you don't want that kind of judgement either...
