This is my first submission of any type to the OCR forums. I'm still of the opinion that my instrumentation/mixing/mastering skills aren't good enough, but after more or less completing this, I was urged to post it on OCR, so that's what I'm doing. I conceded on that point primarily because, out of the dozens of absolutely fantastic tracks that exist for Tyrian, a well-loved and legendary game, I have only seen a single OC Remix. A piano remix, for a track that was originally a piano track. I have no idea why Tyrian has been so drastically overlooked. A quick search shows a couple of shot-down Tyrian entries which I suppose I'll never hear, and I've heard some pretty unimaginative remixes from other sources. Still, this is a game with a soundtrack up there with Sonic 3, which has multitudes of remixes.
If nothing else I want to garner some interest in Tyrian remixes. So this might not be good enough, but I feel I need to do something.

This is a techno/dance mix with some rock elements and other things. I've never been good at genres actually, so just give it a listen. All work done in Reason.
I think the drums need work, although drums are still largely a mystery to me, since my focus in composition is harmonic progression. In the early part of the song, I copied the drums straight from the original, more or less. Later I just messed around on my own, but I probably neglected drums too much. My more recent independent works have a main focus on drums in response, but I have yet to translate that back to this piece.
Assuming people are interested enough to comment, I only ask that your comments be relatively specific. I don't know how to simply make something "better" or "less generic" or have more "presence". I do know how to modify the available instrument controls, mess with EQ curves, add and modify filters, alter the composition in any specific way, and so on. Thanks for your time, and I hope you enjoy this piece at least a bit.
