I love a lot of the music on this site (obviously ) and I was wondering about who holds the copyright to the music. Last time I asked around, I got told that the remixers hold the rights to the music; is that truly the case? If so, would it be legal for me to use it in media projects, such as short films?
The short films may or may not ever be submitted to any sort of film festival, and may or may not even be publicly displayed (for the time being) so if problems arise upon any of those occasions, lemme know.
I'd be glad to let remixers in on "royalties" of sorts, if I manage to win any prizes at film festivals, but it's common courtesy to ask permission first, and before that, I have to make sure it's legal for me to use it.
