  1. While I tend to do remix songs and such under this nickname (which I also use on IRC) I also have a music project called Disintegr8 that I use to distribute my original/experimental/weird/awkward production unto the unsuspecting public. It's hosted on a Finnish music site called Mikseri.net: http://www.mikseri.net/artists/?id=56865 Recently I thought it might be interesting to incorporate some sort of fast paced genre (speedcore or such) into ambient, or rather bridge these fast paced parts of the song with ambient music. Of course, this sort of takes the whole idea of ambient music and stomps on it with heavy platform shoes but I decided to try it anyway. An example of this is the song Spaceninjas Stole My C64 on the page I linked (don't mind the confusing Finnish, just click "Download" ). It isn't too special in terms of arrangement but I thought it would be nice to hear what people think of this kind of music and whether it's a) silly the stupidest genre combination ever c) an interesting concept that could be explored and refined further.
  2. Third revision: http://www.tindeck.com/audio/my/psyc/Gilded---Celestial-Reconstruction-Revision-III Some tweaking and minor changes, mainly with Reason's equalizer which seems to be a pretty powerful tool and not particularly hard to use either.
  3. New version available, now with more stretched and distorted Kohr-Ah. Many other changes too, added distortion to some parts, rearranged the first piano part and guitars... http://www.tindeck.com/audio/my/xyce/Gilded---Celestial-Reconstruction-Revision-II edit: The weird distortion in the beginning of the first chorus is caused by an excessively loud "earthquake" sample that I'll tune/remove in the next revision, don't pay attention to it.
  4. Thanks for the tips, most appreciated. And yes, Reason (4.0) is the program I've been using. I've been meaning to redo the drums and guitars but I'm a bit skeptical about the hellspawn patch as I originally opted to use a guitar patch (tronicshred.cmb) I had found earlier on reasonstation.net specifically instead of the hellspawn patch. I suppose I could give it a try though. The other guitar beneath the tronicshred is a somewhat plastic sounding NN-XT guitar patch that I heavily distorted to create a sort of "wall of sound" effect on the chorus.
  5. Hi. Took me 2 rejected songs to realize it might be feasible to post here to get some feedback before actually submitting the remix. Even though this catchy (if monotonous) song has already been remixed by the very talented crew The Precursors (including Mark Vera and other awesome musicians) I really wanted to try remixing it myself.
