Oh, I'd heard it was bad to mix using headphones - though can't remember the reason now! would you have any recommendations on a set?

Hi all, been away from music production for a while now but recently got back into it. In an attempt to better myself I have been trying really hard to pay attention to the mix of my songs (something I wasn't always great at sticking to.) Anyway, I was wondering if anyone would like to take a listen to a couple opf short samples taken from a recent track I've been working on and comment on the mix? I don't have any professional equipment so judging mixes is quite tricky, I'd really just like an outside opinion on whether I'm heading in the right direction or not. Well, preferably I am looking for material asap to help kick start the site (is it would be very tricky to get it going without many songs available). That said once things are rolling it's going to need a flow of new music to sustain it, so that would be absolutely fine yes.

Hi guys, I am opening up a site selling amient and atmospheric music. I started it originally to market my own compositions, but it would be greaat to get some other musicians on board. I'm looking for some people who have recorded their own original songs that would be interested in selling them on the site. Obviously you'll get a cut from the sales, I can't say exactly how much at this point, it all depends on the price you are happy to sell your mp3's for. If it helps I have been in talk with Michiel Van Den Bos, and he is interested in contributing some material to the site! I tried that, what I meant was are there any that have been rejected by the OCR judges that haven't made their way on to the site? I know a couple like that that are featured on DXM but not here because the judges didn't think they were good enough. Sorry if it deemed I hadn't done my research there.

lol, that was certainly an in depth review! I'm sorry you didn't really feel we'd done the songs justice. One of our aims was to try and make the songs more 'radio friendly'. That's not quite true, it's just the best way I can think to sum it up. Basically if you listen to the original MOD files with the game all the sections are broken up etc - obviously because of the way the game used the tracks. But we wanted to present our version in a form that people who might not consider listening to tracks from video games would pay attention to. Still, thank you for giving the tracks a listen and for sharing your opinion If anyone else has any comments they'd still be appreciated

Hey guys! I hope it's ok to post here as this isn;t really to do with remixing video game music, but it is kinda related. My band Auteur Theory, are releasing a new EP soon and we need a video for one of the songs to splash around the net.The song we're thinking of is very 'video-gamey' in style, so we thought it might be cool to have the video be something game-related. However, we have no experience in making videos, so we're asking if anyone here would be able to help out? We can send you an mp3 of the song if you're interested (we just don't wanna make it public yet). However you can hear a sample on our myspace. It's the top son [Nebula EP Sampler] and the track is featured twice (from 0:57 to 1:27 and again at 2:13 to 2:28 ). Cheers guys!

!AM is originally from our first album, Lucid Dreams

It was just an original track and we thought it sounded a lot like Tims work, so we named it accordingly. Several months later we approached him with the idea of the 1AM remix, and later we released them together, and Warm Storage became a sort of 'homage' to him.
