  1. Loving every note. Is there presently or will there be a torrent that I can seed?
  2. Got it. Crammed it into the CD player with all the precision and excitement of a surgeon on espresso. This is a hell of a thing you've put together. So the question now is: when do we tour?
  3. It seems to me that it's a matter of staying persistent. As in any genre, there are a lot of prog fans for whom something that doesn't fit their expectations of "prog" will fly right over their heads. But a certain few will stop to listen and eventually (it is to be hoped) get hooked and start passing on the buzz. If that persists, the ball will get itself rolling. Of course, you then have to ask yourself if you have that time or patience to spare. You can continue to compose outside of conventional ideas of the genre, and I applaud you for doing so, but I imagine it will take a lot longer to gain repute for it.
  4. Eagerly awaiting my copy. Sooner the better, but on the chance that it arrives on the same day as the new Dream Theater album, my neck is going to be a flaming ruin by the following morning from all the headbanging.
  5. I've only ever used external interfaces and mixers, so I can't really comment on your sound card question. But I can tell you from experience that while the mixer you linked is a nice one as a mixer, it's pretty lousy as a USB recording device. It only passes the main mix through USB, and NOT in stereo. None of the panning controls seemed to have any effect on the sound going to disk. It also has an annoying buzz whenever the USB is plugged in, though I imagine that's just an electronic problem in my particular unit. In short, as a mixer and USB playback device, it's decent. For recording, be aware of its limitations and save your receipt.
  6. I'll take a look. I'm optimistic.

  7. Count me in. What do you need from me (and the other prospective players who are probably also offering their services) concerning demos and such?
  8. I'm a bassist and have been looking for something else to pitch into lately. As Level 99 said, can we get some more details, please?
  9. I'd like to sign up for "Clocktower", but I have a couple of questions. First, is it required to have submitted any ReMixes prior to this to sign up? And second, can you give me an idea of how long I have to put together a WIP? In any case, best of luck to all involved. I hope this project manages to take off.
  10. This may be a stupid question, but is proximity to Sweden a critical factor?
  11. This guy's on the ball. It depends on the model, but generally the place to look for a battery is in the electronics cavity on the back of your guitar. If you see a battery in there (usually a 9-volt) replace it and see how things are then. And thanks, I figured you'd like it.
  12. Sorry I'm not prophet, but if I'm going to bust a lurking streak, I might as well do it on something I can try to be helpful with. Assuming it's a tenor or lower, I think I would consider a dynamic mic, though it depends on whether you're looking to get a specific kind of tone or not. That being the case, I'm obliged by ancient tradition to mention the Shure SM57 or 58. They've got good midrange emphasis, and are pretty hard to break, so by extension you can probably find a used one for dirt cheap somewhere. The list price is a $100 or so.
  13. It might be because I'm tired, but I don't hear any appreciable fading in and out on that mp3. But seeing as you say it seems to happen on everything, I agree that it's probably your guitar's problem. Does it have active electronics?
  14. Well, I've come a ways since I did it, but I was pretty stoked when I figured out that blistering riff from "The Darkest of Winters" movement of Dream Theater's "Change Of Seasons" by ear. One riff down, eight albums and a bit to go.
  15. And two years of lurking comes to an end. Hello, Overclocked world. My first post would have been in an intro thread somewhere, but it's 11:24, I have no tea, and I felt a primal urge to jump on this opportunity. This project seems poised to become epic, especially since some of OCR's finest are involved. I wish to contribute a six-string bass and as much time as I can spare. Day-to-day survival and earning a living will, of course, be lowered on the priority list.
