  1. How big's the file in KB? That could also serve as a contributing factor as to why it didn't get hosted.

If it's below 6000, then you can keep trying. If you're still having issues in a few hours' time, then I would suggest you host the file elsewhere and get someone else to upload the file. I'll change the name records accordingly.

It was 4.95 mb (dunno how many kb) and my connection's really slow now, so I guess I'll just enter it earlier tomorrow. (Actually, since I'm going to summer school, I have to enter it before 7am.)

  2. it must be in mp3 format and I believe you can have up to 5 Megs ie 5000kb. And it's ok. There are two people in this world, noobs that feel noobish and noobs that feel confident. And it takes a while to build up your confidence and then one bad song and strip it all away so don't feel bad...this was supposed to be uplifting advice but I stayed up all night watching Fruits Baskets with my sister and then Idiosyncrisy and then I started to work on my song so I'm a little fried.

Thank you, and I've been working on my remix al night (although I did grab four hours of sleep). So I know what you mean, a little fried.

  3. Hmm.. it would be difficult to document the entire creation of a remix, since my creativity is such that I typically work for weeks or months on any given track. I usually write a bunch, then hit a wall, wait awhile and eventually find a way around. Really, it's not very interesting to watch. I could however break down EXISTING tracks and explain my thought process after the fact. How does that sound?

That's a really great idea, it'd be ubereducational.

  4. I was interested as soon as I noticed this thread. I remember Rayman very well (although I lost the game a few moves ago). Unfortunately, tonight is the first chunk of time I've really gotten to work on it. (Rexy, if you were to extend the deadline, that'd be sweet.)

So, um, just wanted to post and say that Flex and Chicken and Salluz aren't the only ones interested. But my schedule got randomly chopped up this past week. (And I'm a total noob, so my remix probably won't be much. But practice is good.)

    So...just fyi.

  5. Well...I'm in the same group as you two, really. I've been searching for Spyro music, either original or remixed, for a very, very long time. After much searching the only place I can really recommend is VGMusic.com and they don't have very many MIDIs from Spyro games. Really, it's just VGMusic, or you can acquire the original music from the games and try to go by that.

There were also two People's Remix Competitions that use Spyro tracks as source material. They were:

Sorry, but that's about all I can do. If you find anything else that's helpful, please PM me.

  6. Read the first chapter of Snow Crash today; so far it's more entertaining than Colour Of Magic in its entirity.

Being a fan of Terry Pratchett, I consider this a challenge.

The 7th Harry Potter book was surprisingly good; lots of revenge at the end, cool stuff.

Also I'm reading Three Cups of Tea; it's interesting.

Incidentally, this post could be a thread bump. After all, anything's possible.

  7. I officially agree with this thread. I haven't found many other places with music as soulful as OCRemix's. I'm constantly amazed that the songs are free, also. The sheer amount of work put into each remix is incredible; and the remixers don't even ask for payment.

    Surprising stuff...
