  1. Just to tide you guys over, I've included one of the bonus tracks off the album in my latest podcast. GET EXCITE.

came for the bonus track, stayed for the rest of the podcast

i will subscribe to your newsletter post-haste

    Awesome track!!! :'D I assume that's Swanky's Sideshow, can't tell who the artist(s) is/are though.

I'm guessing this purely because his name is in the tags for the podcast, but I think it might be Akumajo? Whoever it is, the track is totally not what I was expecting! Really creative and impressive stuff!

Loving the couple of tracks that have been released so far (this one, mojo gogo, and the previews count as well, I guess); if they are indeed indicative of the quality of the album as a whole, daaaaaaaang we're in for something spectacular.

  2. Man. My heart always skips a beat whenever I see that a new Radiowar track is out. :) This time was no exception! Wonderful stuff, Alex. I'm not familiar with Shenmue or its soundtrack, but this is really pleasant as its own stand-alone thing. As mentioned by someone else, you really nailed the nujabes feel, and that's always welcome.

Immediately added to my playlist. Looking forward to more! :)

  3. First off, I love love love the sound you're using as your intro bass lead. Really clean, very pleasant to listen to. I don't know why that stood out to me so much, but it did, haha.

I agree with pretty much everything Bahamut said. There is a bit of crowdedness around the 2/3 mark. It actually doesn't bother me at all (I found it to be kind of an interesting sound), but I can definitely see where some might take issue with it.

And I definitely agree that you could totally add a couple extra minutes onto this without being at all repetitive or dragging the song out. It really does feel like it needs to be a good 2+ minutes longer.

I'm not sure if you're looking for compositional criticism (and... maybe I'm not the best person to be giving it? Haha), but compositionally I'm loving what you've got here. Really enjoyable to listen to; I've probably annoyed my roommate with my jammin' out to this. However, I do have an issue with the way you've handled the second part of the main melody. This is probably just a personal preference, but I've always felt that a real strength of that part of the song (0:15 in the source; shows up at 2:05 in your remix) is the way the chord progression changes and the melody plays off of it. In the remix, the chord progression stays the same, and overall it feels kind of... static, I guess? Like it could have explored a different area, but didn't. And I think that, if you were to change up the chord progression there, it would help for if you try to extend the song -- having the same chord progression for 5+ minutes could be annoying, but having a couple of different chord progressions helps keep things fresh.

This is my no-musical-training-at-all advice. :D Regardless of what you do or don't do, I love what you've already got. This is right up my alley. Keep it up; I'd love to hear more!

  4. Wow, I'm really enjoying this. I'd never thought of the Moon theme as a calm piano piece, but it sounds brilliant. And the transitions between both songs are excellently done! I would definitely like to hear more arrangements from you, Evory. :) And of course, I loved Dancing Leaves, so seeing Doc Nano's name on here got me all excited as well. :D

A great track, you guys! Keep it up! :)

  5. I just want to say that I can't stop listening to this song, haha. It's really great! The original song(s?) had more of a... how you say?... "epic finale" feel, I guess? Not sad, per se, but more like a "the success of a legend" kinda thing.

All that to say that it's really impressive how you guys took it and made it into more of an upbeat happy-go-lucky kind of thing, and did so really, really well! Really enjoying it. :)

  6. This is beautiful and you are beautiful for making it.

MAN, not gonna lie, Ripsaw Boogie didn't really interest me in the original preview (no offense, ilp0!), but this finished version sounds great! All of the finished tracks are really impressive. Tangerine Fever sounds AWESOME.

Also, hearing Deep Sea Lights just now was... man, that's gonna be a gorgeous track. Love the work Theophany did with the finished version of Breaking the Crystal Key, as well.

There's just so much to say about ALL of the tracks, but I think I'll leave it here, haha. I'm now even more excited for the final release. :D Thanks for the lossless download, Cody! :)

  7. holy crap thank you so much for posting this

    this is just too awesome

Okay, so considering most of my time is spent on Nico Nico Douga, most of my playlist is indie Japanese artists. And of these, most of the artists I like have very... eclectic tastes. Like, some of these people are really big on the Japanese side of the internet, but almost none of my American friends can stand listening to them. So I promise nothing, but. :P

    - For trance, Hanasoumen does some GREAT stuff. The Endless Love,

    .

    - Hachi writes ridiculous stuff that makes no sense but dang it it's catchy. Panda Hero, Matryoshka.

    - wowaka is one of my favorite artists ever. I've no idea how to classify his songs, but I can't help but rock out to each one of them. His debut album, Unhappy Refrain, is amazing from start to finish. Unhappy Refrain,

    .

That's all I can think of right now for stuff that really makes me wanna move. Hopefully these aren't too out-there for you. :D

  8. @Cody:

Wow, thanks for the thorough response!! Really appreciated, bro. :D Cool to know where everything's at. Theophany sounds like he's really working hard on this stuff; keep on rocking, man!

    >the upcoming video preview will be showing another portion of Intoxica

    this is Number One News

Absolutely great, everyone. Thanks again. :)

  9. Rock on! Great to have an update, even if it's a small one. :D

So we're waiting on three tracks right now, right? (Or is it four? Haha) Glad to know they're being worked on; last I'd heard Enchanted had more or less stalled, so it's good to know it's also making progress.

Still totally pumped for the album. Every time I listen to that last preview I just... I really, really wanna hear Intoxica, haha. The wait will have been worth it even just for that. :P

Thanks for all the hard work all of you guys are putting into this album! I know it's gonna be so great. :D

EDIT: Also, is the lossless preview download link no longer working? I can't seem to grab it...

  10. Hey! I've been following this project for quite a while now. Very excited that it's nearing completion. Can't wait for release. :)

Also, I've got a question (that's hopefully not been asked / answered before?). Not sure if it's even okay to ask this, haha, but are there plans to do a physical release? And maybe a "donate [x] dollars to get one of the physicals" a la Serious Monkey Business? Because if so, I'd love to be able to get a hold of one of those. Very pumped about that possibility.

    Thanks. :)
