  1. Overall, I like the sound you're going for. However, the instruments aren't really playing in harmony. It seems like each instrument is trying to stand out. Try simplifying the rhythm of all the backup instruments so the focus goes on the main theme. Still, a lot of potential! I hope to hear a completed version
  2. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=86PzVXcXyTI or http://www.tindeck.com/audio/file/hxap-tprock.mp3 I used Gori Fater's MIDI for most of it (I arranged it and added bass and drums), so I'm not sure if it'd qualify for this site (let me know). Regardless, any comments on how to improve it would be appreciated!
  3. Sounds great! My only real criticism is that the most upbeat, prominent part of the song (the chorus) you (purposely) made otherwise. From the kick at the end, I'm guessing it's not going to continue like that, though Can't wait to hear the finished version!
  4. Thanks for all the comments. I added an ending, though I feel it's a bit inconclusive. Also, I found a drum set that I felt fit better, though I'm not sure if you'd consider it to have a concert snare (I couldn't find any patches like that).
  5. http://boomp3.com/listen/c2iryirha_4/star-wolf-unplugged I just gave it a higher bitrate. Like I said, I just made this on a whim. Also, there's a bit or reverb in there. Any more and it didn't sound right.
  6. Doki Doki Mario is pretty good. It has parts where it strays from the original, but for the most part it seems to be a bit too reliant on it. Also, unless there's something drastically different in the background, I'd stay away from using the NES-sound. The reason I'd want to hear a remix is to hear the song as if it weren't on the NES Still, overall it's decent. I see potential in you, young Willrocker.
  7. I was messing around in Reason and eventually produced this: http://boomp3.com/listen/17g76wvxe_h/star-wolf-unplugged I doubt it's eligible to be on the site (too similar to the original, also it's taken from someone else's MIDI), but I figured I'd post it up in case anyone else likes it.
  8. Is there anything wrong with something like this as a beginner keyboard/MIDI controller? http://www.guitarcenter.com/Casio-CTK-720-61-Key-Portable-Keyboard-with-Learning-System-and-Sing-Along-Mic-Input-Refurb-702715-i1393886.gc It's $80 new, 61 key, and USB-out.
