First of all, I'd upload my files to here for teh time being; makes direct listening a lot easier. Second, your Coldman Rave isn't responding, seeing as the site that hosted it is gone; could you re-upload it please?
So... Dynamoman. It sounds a bit empty at the start, a thing you fix a little bit later on, but I can't shake the feeling that the track misses a certain depth. Next to that, the guitar still feels "fake" and I think that a different soundfont would certainly benefit this track. I like the track, but the buildup itself feels rushed production wise; can you fix that? Of the three new mixes, this one is my favorite...
Tenguman is relaxed, but again it feels empty. Here, a voice would seem the most appropiate thing to add, to give it a real jazz feeling. I think you can throw away the drums if you can let the bass in the background be more creative. The trumpet kind of... fails... Look into what a sax could do to give it more complexity.
Astroman's source doesn't give you much to work with, but I think that in this case an intro with the original source would spice your remix up a bit. The use of the hi-hat to break-up the main theme is,,, awkard, IMHO. At 1:33 you add an extra instrument which is nice, I think the remix lacks such an addition to the "background" before the 1:33 mark... which I think is actually true for the rest of your mixes as well.
All in all... you've got some stuff to work on, as was said by others too, but I think that in time and a bit more learning on your side, you can finish off a pretty decent remix album

I'm digging it a lot. The buildup is on the lengthy side, though, and I'd suggest that for OCR subbing you could better have a shorter intro; leave the longer one for people who are going to use it in albums so they can mix the tracks together. I'm still curious as to where this will lead but I think you're on to something with this
-
Yeah man, you really should finish this because it's full of win! It captures the 80's feel in a very unique way
-
I'm all for it, Street Fighter 2's remix album was awesome and I think that a lot of people here can do much better than a lot of the composers who did Sonic scores over the years...

Wow, an extremely cohesive mix. This certainly was a good decision on the judges' side, because this is great stuff. It doesn't feel like being composed of medleys at all but really has a cohesive feel to it. Great stuff, makes me wonder what the games have to offer in terms of music
-
Solid start and indeed not much more than a framework at the moment. I'm liking it, though, really hope you can extend this into something larger
-
It's a shame that you won't finish it, because it's got a great vibe going on! A bit mechanical at times, but it's still quite nice
-
I agree with Xenon on this one: you need to mix in a bit more 'oomph', so to say, to make this mix a bit more appealing. The choir in the background is nice, but the base sounds a little bit mechanical, which distracts from the tune a lot IMHO; as if you're using a stick to bash against a barrel while you've got a whole orchestra behind you. Like, what happen, drumguy fell asleep or something? And seconded: it's kind of short...
You've got some great material to start off with here though

A great take on Hyrule Castle. This mix really has a very distinct, unique feel to it, and I agree with the judges in that it's a very unexpected take on the source but it really scream HEAR ME I'M AWESOME. Great job!
-
Very nice! It is what you said, a decent remix but not all too great. Tried a few other tracks but they really didn't appeal me, especially Tubelectric was a bit of a letdown. Thanks anyway for the heads up
-
Well that was an interesting source, count me in as follower!
-
Usually not a bumper, but getting this off page 2 for great justice! 159 views gotta mean something, right?
-
A high energetic track, I personally have the feeling that Vega's soundtrack should be more akin to this. I've wondered when we'd get something with such a vibe here on OCR. Great job! I am wondering, though, what happened to the other tracks. Was there a forum thread on trackitdown or something? Becaue I (and with me a lot of people I think) am really curious to hear what the others have remixed. Who was the winner anyway?
-
A very appropiate album release, with some killer music! Very nice
-
I'm notsure, but it sounds you're a bit off in the first part of the piece where you get into the main tune. You correct that later on, but all in all... it's a bit of a chaotic remake. I'm not actually sure if I like it or not...

Hey ReMixers! I downloaded the JJ2 OST a few days ago, and have since been hooked to the Dark Groove tune. Unfortunately, and this is true for a lot of JJ2 tracks, no remix has been attempted on this killer track, and I was wondering if anyone here has time to spare and thinks he or she can give this one a go. Trance and the harder styles are my forte, but hey, if this gets remixed you won't hear me complaining about the choice of style
For those too lazy to search (can't blame you for it )
.Thanks in advance, I'm sure there will be a lot of people who will thank you for it

Wow. I was cursing and cursing because this songwasn't properly remixed yet, but you're doing one hell of a job. My only, single gripe with it as that only the source tunes don't come back that often. Especially the second part really wants some more sound time, IMHO. The way the tune goes away from source by going up in octaves is used way too often, I'm really curious what happens when you expand on the source, instead of deviate from it.
Anyway... Really great work on this WAY to underappreciated track!

Bumping this for great justice!
Will, now that your Ice Cap remix was accepted, is there any chance you'll be going back to this one any time soon? I mean, it's wonderfull that they accepted a piece which wasa already remixed to death, pretty please finish this one which almost no one has remixed?
-
Wow, that's just amazing! It's dark, gruntly, and epic all at the same time! I agree fullheartly with the Judge's comment on how the orchestra and guitar take turns. A real gem, so you better watch out Franck
-
Agreed, overal the sound is very "dull", so to say. When concentrating I can hear the different melodies. Overall what I hear, I like though, so I hope you keep on learning. Make other stuff in the coming time, and when you think you're ready for it go back to this piece and remake it
-
Very nice. The upsweeping of the tune in the second half really helps to track. I'm digging your additions and changes to it, with a bit more on the production side it should glide through the judgespanel effortlessly. I don't think they'll kick it out because it's a mashup; it's simply too good for that
-
Wow. This is so awesome, it's epic. I was expecting something along the lines of the Norfair Deathmarch remix from some time ago, but these two sources flow into eachother almost seamlessly. I'd encourage to add original stuff to it, as I think this track has a lot of potential. And yes, I'd say SUBMIT as well when you expand on the track a bit more. Kick some ass!
-
I tend to agree: a collaboration is something you make with somebody, not throwing in a piece and telling someone *here, finish it*. I think it's lazy...
-
I like it, but I think the source needs some more screentime; that little 2:25 part was... well, short. I think it would be cool if you could incorporate a bit more of the source in a next version
