  1. Well, it seems like a great two tunes to mix together, the MM1 song has potential for being a great partner. A lot of things sound as though they're off key. It's hard to use the word 'lead' when several things are the same volume since I may be identifying the wrong one, but the 'lead' synth seems to be dancing around without much melody to it. It becomes particularly strange around 1:50 for a few seconds.

I can hear a good song in here, and I love Wave Man's theme to death, though it's a bit hard to find and focus on here. The guitar (bass guitar?) in the background that brings itself out more later is a good fit for that source, in fact. I'll be looking forward to your updates.

  2. Well it sounds real good. The first thing, is that the already-accepted remixes of this song either had no vocals, re-recorded vocals, and there is one which had a special pass to use the original track. They may be okay with that, but they may not. Consider finding another source.

The changing styles REALLY helps this song, don't consider it a weakness, too many workshop remixes don't go anywhere once they start with a sound. Will it be longer, or are you just working on an ending for that spot? So far it's great. -edit- Oh, and also, I'm getting a lot more action out of the left than the right, but that may just be my ears. If everything is already equal, then disregard that.

  3. I've never heard anything from FFXI, so I'm just going in ignorant on that one and considering anything that's not DKC in here an improvisation, since even hearing the source I'll have no attachment to it anyways. Not sure why I brought this up, just broadcasting that it sounds great even if one's not familiar with one half. I'd be in no way disappointed getting this off the front page.

  4. I think you're right about arrangement being pretty much done, though I wouldn't say no to a second theme from the game happening around 2:00, it already sounds like there's a hint of something. Her song is normally meant to go pretty slowly obviously, and especially around :50, the guitar could maybe do something with the empty pockets there. But I'm no expert.

You're also mostly right about the instruments too, but it still sounds great. I was pretty unsure about this when I read the title, but I'm digging it.

  5. Normally I'd be bothered by the fairy voice being included in every Zelda dubstep remix, similar to what's discussed in the other one on this board right now, which is already in the Underworld mix linked in here.

However, it's one of the foundations here and really well used. Great track, I agree with pretty much everything above poster said as well.

Oh, and why isn't it downloadable? Not nice!

  6. There are those songs that we all have seen remixed dozens of times, and we think 'ugh this again' even though it's a great track. These songs are all so recognized around here by now, that I was thinking we need one remix, with several of the stars-

    Red Soil Area vs.

    Wily Stage 1 vs.

    J.E.N.O.V.A. vs.

    Chemical Plant Zone vs.

    Gerudo Valley

I for one would enjoy a song like that. A lot. Sorry if it's been brought up, never been to the request board.

  7. I'd say you should add a sizeable, fast-paced, totally improvised original solo in around 1:14, just after the choir section. It's begging to be longer, but since looping would be kind of weak, that's the ticket. These guys at this site really like adding original content to the songs anyways, and there is no better example of that than a killer solo.

  8. I think at the moment that the drums are too much louder than everything else, or at least stand out too much. Nothing besides them is getting any spotlight. Are you going to go with vocals? They won't allow the originals, even if they're edited, so I don't know if I'd recommend using any at all... projects with fan vocals, even if the source has them prominently, are very risky. It's the melody most people like, not the words.
