  1. I'll definitely check out your stuff. And here's The First Noel: http://www.imeem.com/people/q4IDXao/music/H8PB--7i/detroit_chamber_winds_the_first_noel/ in case you want to hear what it sounds like.
  2. yeah, I wasn't sure which of these 2 forums it should go to, thanks for the correction, I'll keep that in mind for the future...
  3. No, none of the music for that mix is from a game.
  4. Well, I tried to mash it with The First Noel. Unfortunately, the two pieces are in completely different keys so it just hurts to hear them together. Secondly, and most surprisingly, I can hardly find any rhythmic similarities... I'm not sure why The First Noel came to mind when I first heard your piece. Anyway, I really like your music and it will now be in my collection =)
  5. I know ocr doesn't accept mash mixes, but I was wondering if I could still get an opinion on it. http://www.imeem.com/people/q4IDXao/music/LXP5sivs/destroika_londons_mighty_element/ If the above link doesn't work, I just updated my music and imeem is being a tard, just click here: http://www.imeem.com/people/q4IDXao/music/ and manually select "London's Mighty Element." Basically, I let the track of "Future Sound Of London - Papua New Guinea" just run full out and then added in parts of 2 other songs, "Black Mighty Orchestra - Ocean Beach (Cybophonia Cinematic)" and "The 5th Element - Diva Dance (total opra mix)." Please let me know how you like it. Edit: Feel free to listen to my other music there, I have other mash mixes there as well as original pieces. I've been uploading in spurts so it's not all there. Also, feel free to leave a reply too, here or there about the music...
  6. I really like it, it's relaxing. It also sounds sorta like a remix of "The First Noel." It definitely has a Christmas-y sound to it. Is this what you were going for? Edit: Ok, now I can't stop listening to it... 2nd Edit: If I could get your permission to download it, I would like to see how well it mashes with "The First Noel" I have from the CD: "Brass Holiday (Detroit Chamber Winds & Strings)."
  7. You're first guess is correct, mash mixes are not accepted by ocr >.< However, I was told that I could post it on the WIP board which I have now done.

Please let me know how you like it. Edit: Ok, I used this spot because it was titled "non-remixes" and to my understanding, a mash mix is not considered a remix. But it is not an untouched original piece, nor is it incomplete. So I'm going to try the remix forum 1 up from here - and I don't see a "delete thread" button anywhere.
  9. First off, thank you all for your kind welcomes and advice. I'll definitely give those links a try. To DarkeSword: I apologize for using the wrong forum... I looked at all the forum titles and none of them seemed to fit this category. Which one did I overlook as the appropriate one for this topic?
  10. I love everything I've heard from OC remix and I would be ecstatic to earn an "OC_remix" title to my music. The problem is, I don't record myself playing anything when I remix a song, instead, I take parts of that song or other songs and make what I understand is called a "mash mix." I was just wondering if those are acceptable here, or if there is a place here that I can post a sample to see if anyone has a specific suggestion about my remixing style?
