  1. Hey Bahumut,

A small aside, your nick name, Bahumut, reminds me of fighting Bahumut on the moon in FF2, was that not epic?

Ahem, anyways, You mentioned that you want a style that is not jazzy, but could you elaborate a little bit? Anything fast-ish or.. perhaps you could give a BPM range? I'd hate to fall flat based on requirements.

Not that I'd do it for the money, but 200$ would be nice. I'd probably just donate it to OCR. Since I got waxed in the *other* megaman comp my schedule has opened right up :sleepzzz:

  2. I had a thought too on how to progress, but I'm sure Doni won't like it as much :(

What if you take the people who were eliminated in round 2 and match them up in their own revenge round and once two emerge as victors there, they match up against the two winners from this revenge round. Then those two can go on to face the two from the semi-finals of the main bracket.

That's another two revenge round fights which will lead to a 1on1 revenge round. The winner of that can face the runner up of the main brackets and that battle can decide who gets one last shot at the winner of the main brackets.

    That's my suggestion anyway!

hmmm.... NOPE DOESN'T LOOK GOOD, NOPE PROBABLY WON'T WORK :banghead:

  3. Since I'm getting whupped and we had some people drop out, I'm going to make a last minute suggestion to try and save myself. Of course, I do this without shame :350:

Why not put all revenge round participants forth this round? we need 4 combatants anyways? yea? yea? don't worry, I won't be too overwhelmed with sadness if this doesn't fly...

  4. But revenge submission is already over.

    IT'S TOO LAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATE

It seems like there isn't a consensus on what's happening with the revenge round...even if we got 1 more submission we would have 2 rounds to vote on. Hopefully Txai can come up with something :<

I'd be so sad if the revenge round fell apart because I used the first round to experiment a bit knowing there would be a revenge bracket...

I think at the very least we could do a threeway vote for those participants who did submit on time

  5. Doni,

Great job Doni once again. Tabla in the intro was very nice. This song is much better than your previous two songs (don't take it the wrong way, I love both of them, this is just better). Very good dance track. The only thing I can point out here is that some parts of the song could've been shorter (less repeats) to keep up the interest.

Overall, this track has very high probability of getting positive response from judges. Best of luck!

    Hey Mystix :)

actually I made this one before the others hahaha. The source is one of my favs 4 sure, so maybe that's why it was better. Hopefully the judges like it... it should be up for review pretty soon

  6. Yuppers, losers in this round go to revenge.

    I'm one of them, so

    *flashes eyes anime style*

    Watch out, Doni.

haha get equipped with anime eyes

I'll watch out, provided I make it past this round. I stuck to my guns a bit more this time round instead of pretending like nobody could catch my fake guitar, so maybe I'll have a fighting chance

  7. Gotta say the original is of of my fave songs ever, Your version in fantastic, in places. Others though just seem to have far too much texture goin on at once. It's a little complicated for my ears, but thats just me. The drums really are very good. But they stand out too much, almost as if you just copied and pasted something ontop. If they were just a little softer that would be perfect for me. But again, thats just me :)

Would need very little tweeking I think.

The video make me lol a few times :P I so wanna hack the game now n make a night club or summant :P

    Thanks Tydin :)

The original is probably my favorite gaming song period. I can remember every detail of my ascent to the city of Zeal.... wow! It just makes my hairs stand up on end

The production style is made for the dancefloor... maybe you are right and the drums might stick out a bit too much. I submitted this one to OCR so if they ask for a resub, I'll change it then. Even if it's denied, I'll still take note of what you said :)

    Thanks again

  8. **I I realize that there is something going on with new project guidelines, but I'm posting this anyways. I'll be doing this whether OCR wants to put their stamp of approval on it or not, but hopefully they do!**

DarkeSword Edit: It doesn't matter. There is a moratorium on projects and if you don't have permission, you can't make a thread.

    Howdo all,

I've decided that there is just not enough electro house on OCR and I'm putting together a project to change that. I think that so much video game music lends itself to the electro house genre that it just makes sense to do this!

The album will be called "Button Masher". It would be great to have collaborators join in and make some tracks as well. If I can get enough interest, it might be a double album! I've ready to make at least 10 tracks myself.

The source tracks can come from any game from any era, the only requirement is that the source be recognizable enough to maximize nostalgia and awesomeness. I have a heavy early Nintendo bias (NES and SNES) but I am open to any music that rocks.

The tracks created need to be mixable. That means they should follow a somewhat standard format relevant to what you would hear in the electro house field. Tracks should be 4 - 7 minutes long and should never fade out. In fact, if anybody submits a track that fades out, I will likely hunt them down and murder their studio for blasphemy.

Here's what I'm going to do to promote this project:

    • Set up a web page for the project
    • Mirror as much content on this post as possible
    • Create a series of youtube videos (at least for the tracks I create)
    • Create all the artwork
    • Promote music on myspace, facebook, twitter, youtube, etc.

The best way to contact me if you are interested in getting involved in this project is via OCR. A message on this post would be great, or a PM; whatever you want!

I have some people in mind that I will likely contact, but I'd rather get something going here before I contact too many people on my own accord.

The due date for this project is not set as of yet. However, you can expect at least 1 track a month from me. Below is the list of the tracks thus far, links to their WIP post on OCR, their completion status, video link, and any other information that occurs to me to be pertinent in the future.

Thanks everyone! Hopefully this project will be strengthened by the community. I'm doing this for my fans regardless of OCR involvement, but I believe that together we could make something truly awesome!
