Hey everyone! I'm currently using Logic 9 express and am fairly new to the remixing scene. One of the things I struggle with is coming up with a good mix and/or method of mixing. Most of the work I do is midi oriented. Does any one have a good book they can recommend for mixing techniques and tips? Thanks

I've tried using FL and I find it a bit difficult to get around. I think that's just because I've been using Logic and before that Garageband. One of the things I do like about FL's though is their plug-ins. Also it seems like it may be a quicker way to compose once you get the hang of the software. I was just curious what people's opinions are so I appreciate the feedback!

Hey everyone, I was wondering if it was worth it to pick up Fruity Loops for my PC. I already own Logic Express 9 and was thinking about upgrading to Logic Pro before the end of the year. But I see most people on here like to use FL Studio to do their compositions. So do you think it's worth getting FL instead of Logic Pro or would you recommend both? Just trying to get a feel as to what's the best move to make for the future. Thanks!

Hey, I know this isn't a game but I'm not sure were else to post it, since it's not an original. Here's my take on the Game of Thrones main theme song. The project is still quite a ways away from being done, as I have a lot of mixing to do and more to add (a intro and outro) but this gives the basic idea of it. Hey I'm collaborating on something with a buddy of mine, and I've come to the point in the song where I'm not sure where to go next. Any suggestions as you listen to it? Thanks ahead of time LINK

This was one of the first songs I tried to compose. I used Garageband and didn't really spend any time mixing or adding extra plug-ins or anything, so forgive the "cheap" quality of some of the instruments. However, I do think it's a cool piece and the middle is especially Zappa"ish". Unfortunately, the original files got deleted when my hard drive crashed so I can't go back and modify anything. Sorry that message was originally for another guy who i sent these files to. I forgot to proof read. But yeah, I definitely need EQ help. I just bought Logic Express recently and am still learning how to get things to sound even across all listening platforms. One thing I can't seem to figure out is how to get rid of that "muddyness" you mentioned. Does it just take a lot of trial and error or are there certain things that everyone should know how to use? Ok here are the files I've been working on recently. Just a few notes: I was originally going to make a soundtrack entirely 8 bit. As it turned out, only two of the songs are actually 8 bit; the Hero theme and the Town theme. The other two utilize a more "complete" composition and tools ect. But I'm sure you'll get it as it goes along. Also, I'm not really good at mixing yet and am still learning how to engineer that stuff. I've found that it sounds best on a decent set of headphones so I'd say try it that way first. Also there are a few things missing like fade outs and whatnot. Still working on that stuff.
