  1. Hi, guys!  I checked out a few of your courses.  Pretty neat!  And Hylian Lemon, thanks for sharing my first Melody Road!  All of my Melody Roads are showcased on my YouTube channel.

Here's a spooky Melody Road, made available just in time for Hallowe'en! A unique take on the iconic ghostly theme of Luigi's Mansion is the spotlight of this stage. Unlike the speedrun gameplay of past Melody Roads, this one slows things down a bit with an autoscrolling adventure through a new haunted manor. Surprises and various details await the player at every turn! There are rumours that a new music remix accompanies a familiar foe in the old mausoleum....

  2. Hi, everyone!

I recently wrote a remixed medley of Splatoon music combined with original content for the opening theme of a popular Splatoon series on YouTube.  This song contains original Japanese lyrics sung by various VOCALOID characters!  The link below leads to the intro itself, so you can listen to the remix in context.  Because of the shortness of the song, it will not be submitted to OverClocked ReMix.

Feel free to provide friendly feedback, but please keep in mind that there will be no further revisions!

  3. Hello, everyone!  I am working on a remix of Clock Town that I started in 2010, and I require direct recordings from a nylon (or gut-string) guitarist for some parts.

    Concept

A while back, a Zelda role-playing environment was being developed in Second Life.  The setting was Termina, 100 years after the events of The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask.  According to the backstory, Clock Town flourished and grew over the century and became the capital city of the land.  This remix was being written for the future Clock Town.  However, a sim (region) could not be procured.  Instead, this remix will make its home (hopefully) on OCReMix.

    Recordings

Below are recordings of sequenced material.  The first is a slightly older WIP of what I have currently.  The second is my attempt to use a guitar sample I procured recently to give a crisp, natural sound using Roland SuperNATURAL technology.

Is anyone interested in helping to provide natural guitar lines for the remix?  Thank you in advance!

  4. Hello, fellow game music fans!  ReMixer Peach here with a special game music soundtrack I wrote for a published indie game!  It is available for listening on
and SoundCloud, and we have plans for a physical album release.

    Game Description

"Seraphim", a different kind of arcade shooter by Studio Ravenheart, is an indie title for the PlayStation Vita (Mobile), iOS, Android, Nook, Kindle, Windows Phone, and Blackberry.  Taking place in an abstract celestial realm, you assume the role of a great otherworldly being known only as The Seraph, defending the worlds from invading constructs with blasts from your six mighty wings.

    Tracklist

    1. Hail to the Seraph

    2. Our Protector

    3. Fragmented

    4. Our Protector Empowered

    Hail to the Seraph

This song features as the title menu, high score, and instructions theme, invoking the sound of imminent battle.  It is a derivative of the song played when fighting against the incoming threats, played at a slightly slower pace for a different feeling.

    Our Protector

This song features as the main theme, heard while fighting against the incoming threats. Borrowing some ideas from "Strength of a Thousand Men" by Two Steps from Hell, this piece shows influences from Super Smash Bros., Final Fantasy, The Legend of Zelda, Castlevania, and perhaps some other game soundtracks.

    Fragmented

This song features as the death/game over theme for version 1.1 of the game.  Taking some cues from a minimalist piano piece—not written by me—found in version 1.0 of the game, this composition embraces both ambient and minimalist styles.  A familiar melody plays for the final third of the song.

    Our Protector Empowered

This song features while in the effect of one of several power-ups for version 2.0 of the game.  With the temporary ability, the environment changes in appearance as a continuous dance beat plays.  I originally wanted to use Vocaloid Prima for the standard version of Our Protector, but time did not allow it.  Thankfully, the idea was implemented in this energised version of the song.

  5. Like I've mentioned on YouTube, this is a great little piece. The ending is better compared to what the WIP had previously (which ended on a inconclusive note). The simplicity with the piano, flute, and drums is appealing when structured with the dynamic patterns you've written.

You mentioned before that the transitions may seem a little sharp, and you may be right. However, that's not particularly a bad thing, since you really want to let the listener know that you're covering a different song in the game. A drum solo or a refrain may have benefited the track, but neither is necessary to maintain interest.

Overall, I think you did a very good job for not having done many video game remixes. Keep up the great work.

  6. I've had a deep Clock Town remix in the works for a long time, but I've had it on backburner for well over a year. It's a bit dynamic, but doesn't cover the different days like you might seek. Perhaps I'll put up a preview on YouTube a little later this year.

  7. Track 2 and Track 9 are from Zelda games. Track 3 is an original song I wrote using synths and percussion from Shining Force II. Track 4 is from Ragnarok Online. Track 5 is a remix of Low G Man (pretty sure you weren't aware of that!). Track 10 is from Phantasy Star III. Track 12 seems to be from DKC3. Track 12 is an unfinished vgm remix, but it doesn't specify where it's from. Not sure whether the other tunes are originals or not, but Track 13 sounds like it's from some traditional Christmas music.

Track 11 is also from DKC3 (GBA). Source is "Cranky's Dojo," styled very differently.

  8. I am attending as media, which is free. Saved myself $500 which all the other blokes have to pay.

I don't know if you care to say hi to me though. I'm pretty much a nobody around here. :)

Oh, cool! I'm pretty much a nobody here, too, although some may say otherwise. Well, chances are I'll be around the Nintendo area by default, but perhaps something more neutral would be a better place for OCR members to meet.

  9. I guess very few from our community will be going to E3. It seems to be a misconception that it costs a lot of money for those who are in the industry and have registered early enough. Those in the game industry who register early enough may not have to pay at all. However, it's way too late to register for that kind of pass now....
