I don't know much else about it aside from the fact that the Firestudio Mobile comes with Studio One Artist, which is essentially the same as the Pro version, but without VST compatibility. The bundled instruments seemed pretty wack to me, so be wary of that.
I think people are generally pleased with the drag-n-drop workflow of it, and I figure the effects are good enough to work with.

Let's see... For one thing, you don't really want to label a song as Mod Review the very first time you post it here, generally. I think you're just supposed to use that when you're just about ready to submit it.
On that note, one thing that I know is going to get a lot of people from the get-go is that the samples are all pretty cheesy. That's usually a pretty easy fix, though. There are all number of free soundfonts that you can download and get some more workable sounds.
Let's see. Secondly, you've generally got the exact same bassline and harmony going the whole song. That gets old really quick (even in the original track, if you ask me), so you might want to do something to change that up.
You could easily chop out about two minutes from this. Most of it is just repeating the Song of Storms melody verbatim, and a lot of the repetition isn't necessary.
There are a lot of guitar and drum fills/solos that aren't all that hot. It mostly comes off as a flurry of rather random notes. I don't really know what to say about that other than go back and redo them so there's a more cohesive sense of melody to it.
I think that's all I've got for now. Hopefully that helps. I'm not really an expert myself, but I'm more than willing to offer some more critique based on my experiences.

This was actually one of my favorite tunes out of Chrono Trigger. On the one hand, I'm pretty glad to see it arranged, but on the other hand, after this, I really doubt anyone could pull off a better take

Somewhere around 30 people watched me botch a round of DDRMAX2 at a Gamer Symphony Orchestra "Deathmatch for Charity" event. I think that was the most I've gotten.

First one I remember playing was Pinball for the NES. That weird Mario-like one. I think it was just called Pinball.

I had a blast with Black Hole Rising in the past. Would be pretty cool to see some Advance Wars love.

It took me a pretty long while to identify the song this was based on - I suppose because it's been something like 8 years since I last played Jazz Jackrabbit 2. Once I did recall the source, however, this instantly became one of my favorites.
Well... It's been one of my favorites since I first heard it just because it's so bloody epic, but still, my point stands.

Never heard of this game before, but I've just got to say that this is pretty awesome. I'm not at all put off by the somewhat abrasive sounds chosen - rather, they make for a unique and interesting tonal palette, I think. I had a lot of fun with this one.
(Also, I just looked up the soundtrack for this game. God, this is obnoxious

Well, I'm not really an expert in the art, but I do know that a very big issue when making a medley is a sense of focus. Throwing a bunch of songs that sound cool on their own together could easily make for a pretty terrible mix when combined. This is something I learned from aiding in show design with my school's marching band.
What I've noticed works best with medleys in general is that one doesn't just play straight through each song in sequence, but rather, takes elements of each and blends them together into some sort of cohesive whole. This, of course, can become very difficult, which is why a lot of people just avoid medleys here.
That's my two cents.

Gotta say that this is a pretty nifty mix. Recording quality is pretty bad - especially by OCR's current standards, but it was pretty innovative for the time, especially the cell phone bits. Really predates all these people running around 'making music' with their weird little iPhone apps these days

And so I decided to grab this week's 8pack from AcidPlanet and throw this together. The theme was apparently funk, and, having just watched Shaft over the weekend, I felt pretty inspired to throw this together.
There's pretty much no mixing or any finalization on this thing, and I don't really intend to do any. It was really just an experiment to see what I could come up with. Everything is either an instrument loop out of the 8pack, a free drum loop from somewhere else in the Sony Sound Series collection, or a neat little free electric piano VSTi that I use for a few licks.

Haven't actually listened to the song just yet, but I know a bunch of guys are gonna come here and say that you should consider uploading your MP3 to a dedicated hosting site like Tindeck instead of posting a link to YouTube. The compression they use on YouTube is really messy.

Hey, I remember seeing this one about a year ago. I might get into this.
Edit: Took a few stabs at this today and last night. Seems like a lot of fun, but I'm *really* bad at it so far. The lack of base-building actually threw me off somewhat.

First time I heard this one, I hadn't really read the ReMix details at all. Needless to say I wasn't expecting the shift in time signature in the middle. Surprisingly, my head kept bobbing to it the whole time nonetheless

um. why would you want to make, like, a tribute album without knowing what exactly you want to pay tribute to? can't you figure out that part for yourself?

That said, it's tough to go wrong with any of the Kirby games' soundtracks - especially since they tend to use so many of the same songs.

I'm far from an expert on David Lanz, but I can definitely hear the influence here. This is probably the ideal way to approach remixing this source track.

I'm not really familiar enough with the WoW soundtrack to hear much of it, but the prevalence of the Guild Wars theme and the very, very slight reference to pre-Searing Ascalon towards the beginning were more than enough for me to enjoy this one.

Saw this a few days ago. Pretty tempted to take it up, but I'm kind of a synthesis nub, and should probably work with freeware until I actually *need* to upgrade to something more powerful.

I read both parts and really enjoyed them. It was really cool to see how the track in Part Two came to life version by version. Very neat stuff
