  1. It's actually not as sickeningly cute as I was hope it would end up. My vocalist definitely had a hard time trying to do "cute." I kept yelling at her "More cute! MORE cute!" I told her if she didn't feel embarrassed, than she wasn't being over the top enough. Ah well, I turned out okay in the end. Thanks for checking it out!
  2. Here's another from my upcoming Xbox soundtrack. This takes place in a "girly" stage, so the song is appropriately "girly." Only with a goofy video game soundtrack could I get away with this. I couldn't stop laughing when I was programing the vocaloid. I might be in love with the way she says "win you over." Backup vocals by me. http://soundcloud.com/vlantis/2-3-marys-song
  3. Thanks for checking it out! It means a lot to me that you took the time to comment. The game's a cartoony sidescrolling shooter. I should have made that clear in the original post. It'll be an indie game, unless Microsoft want to publish it. It's due around September, but I think it may take longer.
  4. Thanks. And thanks a lot for checking out the thread and taking the time to comment!
  5. Haha! For all you know, I could be an idiot. Besides the first photograph which was taken by a friend, I make all of the album artwork myself. The one you mention was made using Photoshop and Painter.
  6. Here's a song from my upcoming Xbox soundtrack. Figured you guys might like it. I did all the music, and the vocals were provided by one of my students. I'll be posting more of these if people seem to like it. Can't give out any info on the game yet, but I've been permitted to post some of the songs on the internet. Keep in mind this isn't the final mix (it's been finished since I uploaded this version). http://soundcloud.com/vlantis/cute-overlord
  7. This is actually the first board I've been on that considers double posts (when quoting) as rude. It's common practice on the other music forums I frequent, but thanks for the warning. Deleted the post.
  8. Ahh, okay, I see how that works. Where should I post music if it's specifically made for a video game, but isn't a remix (it's from an OST)? Should that go into the originals? I thought that was just for non-VG stuff. Thanks for checking it out, anyway! Okay, that's cool.
  9. Hey guys, I don't know if this is the right place to post this, but I see other people posting music here, so I figure I'll give it a go. I posted something in the music forum, but I guess there's not a lot of traffic there. Just thought I'd share my stuff with everybody. It's very much inspired by video game music (but it's not strictly chiptune). I used to sing all the vocals myself, but for the last year, I try to get a different person to sing for each track (one track even has five different vocal credits). You can browse through and download all of my alums for free at http://vlantis.bandcamp.com/ The newest one is called "In Darkness the Light." It's a bit more rock and roll than the others. You might also like this one: And my fictional Nintendo soundtrack Right now I'm working on an Xbox soundtrack. I'll post some up in a bit. I'm new around here, but I'll be sticking around. Enjoy!
  10. Nice to meet you all. I'm new around here, but have been a member of other music forums for a long time. I've got a lot of music I think some of you might like, but not sure where to begin. Let's start with my Super Battlestation Robot EP. This is a electropop collaboration between me and about 10 other vocalists. You can download the whole thing for free at: http://vlantis.bandcamp.com/album/super-battlestation-robot Enjoy! Let me know what you think, if you have the time.
  11. I've been playing in bands since Jr. High, but I never started solo music until three years ago. It took about two years doing solo stuff before I ever really got comfortable with what I was doing. So yeah, only in the last year have I done stuff I really liked.
  12. I've been an active online musician for about three years. I'm a regular contributor to IDMforums and the Abeleton forum. I always feel like the odd man out around there due to the fact my stuff is usually inspired by goofy video games. How did I never know this community existed? This forum has a great interface (a bit like IDMf) and it seems like there's a lot of activity. I'm going to post some of my music, so let me know what you think! Nice to meet you.
