    Thanks :) Yeah, Nonamer and I had a low-key evening of Frozen Yogurt, trivia, and Tetris. It was good times.

    I'm totally interested in a NYC meetup if that happens.

    I'm planning on getting into NYC area early afternoon tomorrow. I was once a theater junkie. Not as much now, but I still definitely want to see SOMETHING. Other than that, if we can pull a group of OCR folks together, that'd be fantastic.

    Well, I got my 3DS the day it came out, but didn't have any games to play online. THAT HAS CHANGED.

    Picked up Mario Kart 7. Only a few cups in, all 50cc, so I really don't have much of a feel for it yet. But I should be around to play sporadically for the next couple weeks.

    Also, ditto pretty much everything ocre said on Tales of the Abyss (although I did finish the PS2 version). Pretty straight port of an excellent game.

    I'm having me another road trip, and I've always got time to meet good OCR people. I've been in Kansas City the last couple days, and hung out with Phonetic Hero and ShinnyMetal. Cool cats, both. The next couple weeks will find me in Dallas/Ft. Worth, Minneapolis, and Omaha. Anyone in those areas can PM me or respond in the thread if you'd like to make something happen. I'll be driving every mile of I-35 between DFW and the Twin Cities, too, and I usually pad my time so I'd have plenty of time to stop for a bite to eat or something. I really enjoyed hanging out in DC/Baltimore back in February; hopefully, some new faces make add some unexpected goodness to this trip, too. :)

    I'm on a two week vacation and have several stops planned, and am always happy to hang out with fellow VG and VGM appreciaters.

    My stops include DC, Pittsburgh vicinity (I have friends in Latrobe), Williamsburg, VA, and Raleigh (possibly NYC, too, but that might be a bit much). I have a bit of flexibility and not a whole lot planned, so if anyone wants to meet up for drinks, games, whatever, reply here, shoot me a PM, or check my other contact info, and I'll see if I can't make it work.

    Also - can't wait to listen. Sounds like a lot of people think pretty highly of their work, and, here, that's rarely a bad thing.

    Also, mad props to Mr. L, who single-handedly came through for Energy Tank. Between [insert lame excuse here] and [insert moderately legitimate excuse here], I was unable to contribute, but he came through with some major progress on the tail end of the week.

    We never had a computer at home; I was raised on console gaming and will always feel more comfortable with a controller in my hands and a TV in my face. But I also support this. As for input, I don't have any of my own, but I did just come across this post in an old thread: quoted below for the lazy

    Somehow, I never looked at the tracklist until today I have been talking up and clamoring for a Legacy of the Wizard mix forever! Actually, I originally created an account specifically to make that request (which was not without results.) :smile:

    ....and now. A completed track just falls into my lap? :shock: I have no words. Haven't even gotten to download it yet, but was too excited. Can't wait to listen to this, and really, the whole line-up looks amazing.

    I think it'd be awesome if we had a little crew of OCR folks who brewed their own beer and maybe next MAGfest (or some such gathering) we could have a little competition. Either way, Kate and I had a lot of fun with what we've done so far. I'm looking forward to seeing how it tastes!

    Anso's mah Reason bro. Definitely an inspiration to Reason users everywhere, so he gets props for that.

    Seriously, a friend of mine introduced me to Reason a few weeks before I found OCR. That, in turn, was mere weeks before 'The Life and Death of the Mario Brothers' debuted. One of my early discoveries, and still a favorite.

    I know Lemon's work primarily from DS's Mega-compos, and his entries are probably the most consistently the kind of tracks that find regular playtime on all my lists. In fact, I was just listening to "Swarm of Voxels", and I have just one question: are you Tim Follin?

    Hi, everybody!

    Happy to report safe (if excessively delayed) travels, and we're finally settled in on base in Afghanistan. Just got my internet activated a few hours ago. :) It's slower than dirt, but at least it's enough to browse. And, as far as I can tell, I should be equipped to contribute whatever's asked of me in our mystery round.

    I have managed to get a hold of all the mixes (with the latest batch ready in the next few hours), and I never fail to be impressed. I'll post more in depth impressions when I get a chance.

    And yeah, that song is beautiful. It reminds me a lot of Gregorian chant, but the harmonies add an even more mystical quality, and the basses....so rich.

    As for Bilbo, if you've ever seen the British version of The Office, you'll know that role is in good hands.

    Do you know how long these are available? Also, I have a buddy who qualified, but never enrolled in the Ambassador program. Is it too late for him or can he still get in on this (and maybe the NES titles, too)?

    I'd do the research myself, but this connection is the sucks.

    The mic placement needs some improvement here - the recording sounds quite cheap, although it is reminiscent of old western flicks.

    This was actually a processed sample, and that's exactly the feeling I was going for, so thanks!

    With regard to your entire post (and most of your write-ups, really -- see quote below):

    I think it's really important to remember that this isn't the WIP forums, and I guarantee every mixer here would love to hear what you (this is to anyone sharing their reviews) enjoyed about their mix. I have no problem with constructive criticism, especially when you need to justify your votes, but the point of a review is to share the good and the bad, not to explain what needs to be fixed to pass the panel.

    Of course, I'd rather have a harsh review than none at all, and I really appreciate you taking the time to do a write-up every week (I wish I'd had the time to do the same...)

    Gotta... sleep... damnit.

    Alright, set alarm for a few hours and finish this mofo before the time is up. Urgh, it's tricky.

    Sleep is for the weak. And the conquerors of procrastination.

    I am neither - third Friday all-nighter in a row!

    (The direction I'm taking this could be inspired...but inspiration came much too late, and there's no way I'm going to do justice to this arrangement. Hopefully, some of you still enjoy it.)
