I think the big problem developers are going to run into is that the lack of physical feedback makes first person fighting (or any real 1:1 fighting) extremely difficult to make interesting or believable.

What's with all the dubstep, cheesy metal and 1990 MIDI stuff going around, let's get brutal guys. I need a NES tune that would work as a grind song, hit me up with suggestions.

Thanks for the feedback-- yeah, I haven't added anything to limit the sound at all yet, so once I do that the clips should go away (I think). I'm not all that great at production yet. Can it be fixed with a compressor or limiter of some sort?

I'm working on an orchestrated version of the Forever Forest theme, and here's what I have so far. I haven't added the brass yet (bad composer, bad!), and the ending is a little rough, but I thought I'd throw this up here to get some comments and suggestions. Thanks!

What DAW are you guys using? I'm using Sonar 7 and Fruity Loops. As far as plugins, I recently bought the Native Instruments Komplete bundle, and I also have Garrital Personal Orchestra.

I'm totally down. I've been using DAWs for a long time, but have only recently started delving into proper music theory, orchestration, and all those little nobs and stuff.

That's weird that they'd do it now. TheSpeedGamers are going to start their weekend marathon of the Castlevania SERIES at 6:00pm tonight. Be sure to check that one out. In addition to playing through multiple games quickly for charity, they're also pretty entertaining.

Pretty much every moment of Amnesia: The Dark Descent. That game is truly terrifying.
Aside from that, in Final Fantasy VII, when you wake up in the Shinra building's prison with all the doors open and you see the trail of blood... that was freaky.

I'm pretty new to Kontakt, so I'm not sure how to work all the bells and whistles. Having more than one instance of Kontakt up in my sequencer slows it my computer down quite a bit, so I've stuck to putting all the instruments in one instance of Kontakt 4. My problem is that I want to use different audio filters for each instrument in Kontakt. Is that possible? Say, for example, I have Synth 1 and Synth 2 in Kontakt on channels 1 and 2, and I want Synth 1 to go through Reaktor FX and I want Synth 2 to go to Guitar Rig... is that do-able without opening up multiple instances of Kontakt for each instrument I want a filter for? Thanks!

Yeah. If you right click the volume dial of the sample, you get an option that says "Edit Events". From there you can draw what you want it to do. The top of the graph is maximum, the bottom is minimum. Left clicking lets you draw like normal, right clicking lets you draw in straight lines. What you're gonna wanna do is start the volume where you want it, then toward the end of the sample, sharply lower the volume, cutting off the sample where you want it. I'm not great at explaining it, so give it a shot, experiment, and let me know if you need more help.
