  1. Yeah, it only SOUNDS too good to be true
  2. This is the promotion on Image-Line's website: http://www.image-line.com/documents/news.php?entry_id=1291848707&title=fl-studio-50%-off
  3. I'm not sure if anyone's posted about this (I didn't see anything on the front page), but I thought it'd be worth mentioning. Sending an email to groupbuy@flstudio.com with your name, email, and address gets us 50% on FL Studio and/or upgrades on December 20 . Me? I'm gonna upgrade from my old Fruity Edition to the Signature Bundle!!!
  4. While I'm VERY interested in this, I'm worried that I probably can't make the quick turnaround you're looking for. Finals coming up I love wintery music though!!!
  5. First: NES Castlevania Second: Birdman music from Pilotwings 64 Third: I have no idea, but it reminds me of this lol:
  6. I'll take Frappe Snowland. Oh, the memories. I'm also interested in Toad's Turnpike if nobody else wants it...
  7. I think the big problem developers are going to run into is that the lack of physical feedback makes first person fighting (or any real 1:1 fighting) extremely difficult to make interesting or believable.
  8. Thanks for the feedback-- yeah, I haven't added anything to limit the sound at all yet, so once I do that the clips should go away (I think). I'm not all that great at production yet. Can it be fixed with a compressor or limiter of some sort?
  9. I'm working on an orchestrated version of the Forever Forest theme, and here's what I have so far. I haven't added the brass yet (bad composer, bad!), and the ending is a little rough, but I thought I'd throw this up here to get some comments and suggestions. Thanks! 10. Jimmy McMillan might be my new hero, just because of how ridiculous he is. For those of you who don't know who he is, just youtube search "the rent is too damn high" and you'll see. He lost the election, but it's ok because his album dropped today. No, really. http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/the-rent-is-too-damn-high/id400751705
  11. This isn't good enough for you? http://smrpgremix.ytmnd.com/
  12. Ok, my skype is Speeeven. What DAW are you guys using? I'm using Sonar 7 and Fruity Loops. As far as plugins, I recently bought the Native Instruments Komplete bundle, and I also have Garrital Personal Orchestra.
  13. I'm totally down. I've been using DAWs for a long time, but have only recently started delving into proper music theory, orchestration, and all those little nobs and stuff.
  14. That's weird that they'd do it now. TheSpeedGamers are going to start their weekend marathon of the Castlevania SERIES at 6:00pm tonight. Be sure to check that one out. In addition to playing through multiple games quickly for charity, they're also pretty entertaining. http://www.thespeedgamers.com/
  15. Pretty much every moment of Amnesia: The Dark Descent. That game is truly terrifying. Aside from that, in Final Fantasy VII, when you wake up in the Shinra building's prison with all the doors open and you see the trail of blood... that was freaky.
  16. Thanks for the help everyone, this is very helpful. I should go watch a tutorial on Kontakt 4 to better familiarize myself (and, failing that, dig through the manual).
  17. Oh, awesome! I was wondering what those 8 out and 16 out options were. Thanks!
  18. I'm pretty new to Kontakt, so I'm not sure how to work all the bells and whistles. Having more than one instance of Kontakt up in my sequencer slows it my computer down quite a bit, so I've stuck to putting all the instruments in one instance of Kontakt 4. My problem is that I want to use different audio filters for each instrument in Kontakt. Is that possible? Say, for example, I have Synth 1 and Synth 2 in Kontakt on channels 1 and 2, and I want Synth 1 to go through Reaktor FX and I want Synth 2 to go to Guitar Rig... is that do-able without opening up multiple instances of Kontakt for each instrument I want a filter for? Thanks!
  19. Yeah. If you right click the volume dial of the sample, you get an option that says "Edit Events". From there you can draw what you want it to do. The top of the graph is maximum, the bottom is minimum. Left clicking lets you draw like normal, right clicking lets you draw in straight lines. What you're gonna wanna do is start the volume where you want it, then toward the end of the sample, sharply lower the volume, cutting off the sample where you want it. I'm not great at explaining it, so give it a shot, experiment, and let me know if you need more help.
  20. Actually I really don't know what genre it falls in exactly. I did it in an afternoon just for fun. I don't really plan on going back to make it perfect, but I still thought I'd share anyway. http://www.upload-mp3.com/files/233192_0ssas/Fun%20Stuff.mp3
  21. Awesome, thanks! I'll be eagerly watching my mailbox. 600 pages of goodness And I went ahead and ordered the Rimsky-Korsakov book as well--- $8 used on Amazon, hard to beat that price!
