Regarding Name chane - will pm you tomorrow i promise. I guess we should - ive been milling his over since the announcement and dont know whether flattered or horrified.
Sorry again.
Trouble is although i have intermittant internet access the files are all on a desktop pc that cant travel.
Back at my desk after 2 weeks of criss crossong UK -amongst other othings brexit has ruined my work life balance ...
I was sure we had chernabogues track as a wav? Need to check.

Will send you my email later so we can discuss this off forum rather than over pms to speed the process up.
Missing wav files are en route to Skyrider after a completely uneccessary, and entirely my fault, delay.

Hi
I think we have wavs of all the tracks although Argle was going to work on his further. Also the plan was for them to be mastered and we'd discuss whether OC Remix would be interested in hosting (whether as an official album or just presenting like the CID album last year was) or if we'd have to host it elsewhere (which I can do if necessary).
Unfortunately I have no sound software any more and have lost most of my kit due to various work issues / moving house. I still have all the files.
Skyrider / anyone else - if you are able to help me get these files mastered and start conversations with OC Remix about how we finish this I'd be happy to direct message you with more details.
I think we have 15 or so VERY strong tracks, and some additional really good but not quite as strong tracks I'd present as almost 'extra' or WIP tracks (think disc 3 of the Sonic Project Chaos album).

Hi Bly
We have all the WIPS for this project and I'm waiting on Argle for mastering.
I haven't heard anything from him for a while - if anyone has let me know
If he stays MIA we may need to recruit someone else who can help finish production so we can release this.
-
Dear all
Just to let everyone know where we are with the delay.
I have Tuberz and Skyrider's tracks, which were the two I was holding out for, however I have lost touch with Argle who had kindly offered to help master the tracks together.
If your out there Argle I'm sorry it's taken so long to get them all together but there were some I had to hold out for. If not we may need someone else's assistance to help put this together
Tom
Update: Contact re-established.
-
Just come back from a fortnight in India. Had a track from Tuberz I need to listen to tomorrow...
Anyone with any outstanding work - can you get it to me in the next 2 weeks? If you are I contacted you around Christmas. I need to contact Argle about mastering, start transfering tracks over, and then we're shockingly close to being done.
Skyrder - have you got the final version of the Pirates song ready yet? Think you can get it ready in 2 weeks?
Tom
-
No, the project is not dead. It's very NEARLY done. Progress updates on first post.
I'm still waiting for the same tracks I was waiting for in October.
A few people have approached me asking if we're still accepting new WIPS. If the song is pretty much complete and you'd like to put it in we'd love to have it but right now I just want to begin mastering what we have.
-
I have a British accent and a decent mic setup.

Let me know if you haven't got anything sorted by sunday as I can record that evening and get to you by Monday.

I've just returned from my massive month long absence and will begin getting in touch with people regarding the final WIPS this weekend. So head's up people - it's time we wrapped this thing up
-
Dear all, sorry to bump this thread but I'll be away from a computer from thursday until the 1st of September.
If anyone wants me to look at a WIP or have a final run through of something before I go please get in touch now. Otherwise can everyone work towards getting something in for the end of the month
-
Sadly it's not out yet in Europe...
Is there a lot of text? A lot of games just release with UK as the only option if they can get away from it but I've no idea if Shovel Knight really won't work without translation???
Either way that email angered me slightly

No problem - I'm happy with the current set list, delighted to see someone was offering a potential extra track and ecstatic to hear you discussing a second.
Just so everyone knows the current track list (although being able to slot in Forsaken Fortress at 6 and Molgera at 15 would make this near complete).

I did have an unusable WIP for Molgera a while ago but I would love it.
And Forsaken Fortress was originally on my must have tracks so definitely.
If you think you can do a fast turnaround over Summer that would be awesome That's great news, look forward to hearing from you.

As we are now just waiting for 2 final tracks I'd like to set a deadline to complete this album by.
Can everyone make sure they have sent me a finished unmastered wav by the end of August please. And I'm sorry to everyone who sent me their work last year - if they want to make any adjustments before August I'm happy, in the mean time thankyou for getting your stuff done on time.
We have a really strong mix of tunes here with nearly all of the main themes from WW accounted for. If anyone out there thinks they could turn a quick mix of some epic theme's we're missing (Hero of Wind is one) before August please get in touch.
Other than that I'm looking forward to sharing what we have.
-
Thanks Amphibious, that'll be great.
Mangaman - pm me your email address. I still haven't received the female vocals for you to contrast with so final take will have to wait for that. Alternatively I'll try Skype again on Wednesday night
-
Thanks to pixelpanic the bass part on the last track is now locked in.
I'm speaking to a female vocalist to record something and that may be the final part of that song, which just leaves yourself, Tuberz and Amphibious to send me wavs of your respective tracks before the album is done
Do you think you'll be able to send me something before easter? I'd like to hand tracks over for mastering around then if everyone is happy with that deadline? I've tried contacting some people and had no response. I'm also having trouble logging into Skype which is making contacting Mangaman difficult - I wanted to compare notes on where we are regards vocals Sorry about that.
But we are NEARLY THERE

Good to hear, I have a first go at the bass for the final song so hopefully tomorrow I'll get some time to put something closer to the finished project together.
Sorry for the time I've been away from the internet since the new year, I'm moving house again and it's always a stressful moment You'll get my full attention again within a week or two.
-
Seconded big time.
Get FFVII and Tactics together and you'll be set.
...until you hit FF10 and up. Then you'll be disappointed like the rest of us
Apart from, for my money FFX is a thing of unparalleled beauty and FF12 is the best video game ever made.
-
That's right, not a single one,it's just a series i've never got round to experiencing. I've noticed that there is a large FF fan base on here along with a lot of the OCRemixers themselves and i'm feeling it's about time to give it a go.
Am i correct when i say that there is no continuing story throughout the series, each game has completely different characters in a completely different world? Do i need to play them starting from 1 and working chronologically or can i start on any one in the series without losing out on any story?
As bad as this sounds the PS1 era games have not aged well....
Whilst I applaud FF7 and FF9 for their MANY good points, they are long, involved, deep time investments and plumping for them when you don't know what your in for may be off putting.
My first FF game was FFX, which has a really well told story and (for the time) amazing graphics. For someone who hasn't played an FF game before (have you played any RPG before because if your familiar with Dragon Quest or something else like that disregard this) it's an excellent jumping on point.
Personally my favourite FF game of the series is FF12, followed by FF6 (if you like SNES/mega drive style graphics this is even better than FF7).

I wrote this a while ago:

Yeah, I like the game, and I admit it takes an hour or so to really hit it's stride. The first dungeon is incredibly simple and just exists to get you used to the mechanics - and even then the game doesn't really hits stride until 3 or 4 dungeons in.
Personally I really liked it However I can see why other's wouldn't.

I didn't pay much attention to this Nintendo Direct when it first aired in September but looking back at it, the Wii Fit Meter really seems impressive. It's not just a pedometer, but also measures physical intensity, categorizes the type of physical activity you're engaging in, & even has a pressure sensor to measure elevation to more accurately measure expended calories.
Makes me want to look into getting it myself.
I quite enjoyed Wii Fit Plus a few years ago, and as I already had the balance board I decided it was worth shelling out for a fit meter in return for a free copy of the game. last night I installed the download (it took a while ) and Monday will be my first day out wearing it.
It'll be interesting to see what it registers from my day to day routine.
I'm also curious as to how well it will be able to distinguish between me walking and using public transport, so 24 hours from now I'll be able to give a full report on how it can handle: walking up and down hills, sitting in a car, sitting/standing on a train, sitting on a tram, stairs from 1 floor to 1 floor, elevators up 3-4 floors, sitting in an office and working behind a bench and all the minor derivatives in-between.
The game itself looks good, they've got most of the old activities plus some new ones that are designed to feel more like 'games' to draw you in. We'll see how long that remains fresh for. It's all presented with several minor organisational tweaks to make this feel like a far fuller health package than it offered previously.
It still announces your overall fitness by BMI however which for anyone with built up muscles is a sad, sad, sad thing

Pokemoneinstien has just sent me an mp3 of his completed rendition of 'The Legendary Hero' - we just need to apply the vocals which are already recorded and get the wav and that track is finished.
Which means all that is left are Grandma's theme (I am going to be recording the vocals next weekend and sending them to you TheRex, promise), Ocean (I haven't heard anything from you for a while Tuberz, the song is there I just need a wav ) and Hyrule Castle (same position with you Amphibious) and Pirate Ship (any word Skyrider?)...
And then we need female vocals and a few minor changes to the final track which I need to sort. But in short the album is now 90% complete!
If anyone out there thinks they could take on Molgera's track, or any of the others listed that we're not doing, and complete it before Christmas please let me know. However with the current track list we've all of what I'd consider the important themes from the game.
-
hi Skyrider - I have the wav for that track as Pixelpanic left it (the same as the flp file I sent you but with all the plugins that I don't have working ).
However he's expressed dissatisfaction with it - if you can put a little time into mixing the track a little further it would really be appreciated by both of us

So Digital Coma was delighted that the album still had fans in 2016? It still has fans in 2020.
I really wanted to try and celebrate this early milestone achievement of OCR and so, as part of a retrospective Youtube series I'm working on, here is a short video review / retrospective
