  1. It all depends on what you are looking for.

    Do you want in-ear monitors?

    Over the ear monitors?

    Headphones?

    Is comfort important?

    +++

But to be honest with you: you won't ever get a good pair for 50$. If you want something with really good sound and quality you should aim for 100$+

I've been through several IEMs, and I simply got tired of bad sound. Then I bought Monster Beats Tour <3

The best quality I've ever had and the company is extremely serious. If you have questions, you can talk to a representative and you'll get detailed and good answers.

But on the other side, you have an iPod, and it has crappy sound without an amp, so it's not worth buying too expensive a pair of IEMs for it. It's the truth - if you want sound quality without having to buy a portable amp (oh the horror and extra weight), stay away from Apple.

Head-Fi is a really good source for solid reviews:

  2. More fighting styles means more balancing means more work. I'd be happy if there was 5 characters and the game was totally balanced.

Fewer characters means less choice means less chance for success.

I'd be happy if there was more than 30 characters and the game was balanced enough (no exploits or certain characters who always have the best chance of winning) ;)

    EDIT:

I agree with you, PriZm. It's as much about the players as the characters themselves to a certain point.

Even though Maxi has short range and combos which have big, punishing openings, I feel that I can use him well enough to kill

a friend of mine who's very good with Hilde.

  3. I just bought Donkey Kong Country 3 Advance yesterday.

The temptation was too big, since the game has a totally new soundtrack - it wasn't too expensive either :)

I'm going to play through it and enjoy the new music, trying to forget the old tracks so I can judge the new ones for the quality and not just compare them.

C'mon guys! Get it done :D

I'm dying of anticipation here! xD

  4. Want the best prices?

Buy something from Acer. The TimelineX series is excellent.

It's stuffed with bloatware, I know, but just clean the HDD and re-install Windows and you've got yourself a nice laptop :)

I have a TimelineX 5920GTX and am very happy with it.

At least here in Norway, Acer has the best specs within the price ranges they are in.

If you want the PC with the best build quality out there, go for a Sony Vaio. They look very good, are tough, have good specs, but are expensive.

If you want to tweak your laptop as much as possible, I suggest you Google for a company which builds custom laptops in your respective country.

  5. 'ello!

Thanks for all the great music here at OC ReMix.

I will try to get better at FL Studio, so maybe I can make something at one point :)

  6. Sweet track, Jewbei!

    Loved the leads, melody ^^

I, myself, would have liked the song even more if there was a solo guitar subtly in the background in the beginning, becoming more and more noticeable and doing more and more harmonies,

then suddenly burst out in wicked solos like melody did, then go back to being subtle (then repeat the cycle with small variations).

Maybe more in the style he does from ca. 70% into the jam he posted(when the tracker is above the "a" in "Download Track")

EDIT: Re-did the avatars and added a lighter blue background so it's easier to see Leo's bandana.

EDIT2: Added new versions of the TMNT IV avatars with coloured backgrounds.

LT: Don't need the small versions, but the recolored backgrounds for the existing ones look sweet!

  8. Nice!^^

The arrangement really sounds good without the intro of the original track.

Love the percussion, reminds me of soundtracks for films about war.

I would love another instrument to be included, maybe a grand piano for harmonies after the first part with percussion?

    Just a suggestion :-D

  9. I tend to play fighting games the most through my years of gaming and while the tekken st's have been pretty good i think tekken 6's is the weakest by far. Kind of a shame when tekken 5's was excellent.

    Indeed.

The soundtrack of Tekken 6 felt so rushed and repetitive.

  10. Can someone please make a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles IV: Turtles in Time remix album?

This game has arguably one of the best soundtracks on SNES, and still we only have two remixes with low file quality.

Sewer Surfin' is a radical track and kicks shell, but it's unfair that only one of the other tracks is given a remix here at OCR.

Please make FLAC files (priority) and mp3 320kbps.

    Cover concept

    ShellShock12.jpg

    TRAKCS:

    Intro (Turtle Power)

    Select Turtle

    The Lady of Liberty Vanishes

    Big Apple 3 AM

    Alleycat Blues

    Sewer Surfin'

    The Technodrome Appears

    Technodrome - Let's Kick Shell!

    Going Up

    Shredder's Trump Card

    Turning Back the Clock

    Prehistoric Turtlesaurus

    Skull & Crossbones

Bury My Shell at Wounded Knee

    Neon Night-riders

Starbase - Where No Turtle Has Gone Before

Technodrome - The Final Shell Shock (Super Shredder)

    Signing Off (Ending)

    Bouncing Back (Continue)

    Bummer (Game Over)

    Climatic Battle (Boss Theme

    All Clear (Cowabunga)

I have not included the tracks for the VS Mode because they are not that important. Feel free to add them too though.

    COWABUNGA! And thanks! :)

  11. Got to love the art direction!

I don't care about what people say, it looks awesome to me!

Why make a "realistic" version on Wii when the system is not capable of HD and advanced shaders etc. ?

Wait for Zelda on Project Café/ Wii2/ Nintendo Stream for that.

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess looked a bit washed out.

    For comparison:

    Twilight Princess

    LINK%201.jpg

    Skyward Sword

    Legend-Zelda-skyward-sword-Beetle1.jpg

Looks awesome, but I gotta say I'm a bit disappointed that Link is likely to be right handed in all future iterations.

They should set right-handed as standard because most people are right-handed, but they should also include the option to make Link left-handed.

That way, everyone will be satisfied :)

  12. I really hope Nintendo makes the first, true HD console.

Almost no games on PS3 or Xbox 360 are in native 1080p, they're just up-scaled and that's not the same -_-'

The few games in 1080p are small or not complex, because the consoles simply lack the power to run complex games in such a high resolution.

It's cheap to write 1080p on the boxes when the true meaning of it is that the game can be shown in 1080p mode(not to be confused with real 1080p).

I really hope Nintendo makes a new F-ZERO in 1080p with lots of customization, tracks and great music.

The best game so far, as I see it, is F-ZERO GP Legend.

It really was LEGEN... Wait for it....... DARY: LEGENDARY!.

  13. Since you mentioned that your own flac files work, you could try converting them to wav and back to flac with your own conversion method.

The only other thing that came to mind is I noticed is two of the three songs have a special character (accented e).

I guess I'll give up on FLAC on my J3. I can't hear the difference between 320kbps mp3 and FLAC anyway (almost no one can).

It's best to store files in FLAC though, as it's the easiest format to convert and it's lossless compressed.

But thanks for the help, mate :)

  14. I just wondered...

Is there something special you do with your flacs?

Some of your albums won't play all of the songs on my Cowon J3 music player.

    Albums with errors:

Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix Soundtrack

    - The song Flying Heaven (Fei Long Stage) freezes the player

    DKC2: Serious Monkey Business

    - The songs Monkeys Disarm Their Kremlings, Simian Soirée and Paleolithic Park freeze my player.

    Pokémon: The Missingno Tracks

    - The song The Mighty Mighty Pokémon freezes my player

They play fine on my PC, but my player is picky when it comes to flac quality. I have no problems with the Castlevania album or any of the albums I have ripped to flac myself. Neither do I have problems with any other format.

  15. The Sound of Speed has already been done. ;)

Also, why does this read more like a project than a request? :P

And why does it seem like you're more concerned with the quality of the file than the quality of the arrangement and mix?

    Hehe!

I'll go for "Mode 7" as the name then. I didn't notice that it was used already as I don't like Sonic games that much.

It reads more like a project because I have been very specific :)

The cover art was just something I did for fun.

It's not the quality I'm concerned with, it's the lack of tags with WAV. I hate it.

Of course the quality of the arrangement and mix is most important.

  16. Could you please make high quality remixes of all the original tracks in F-ZERO for the Super Nintendo? Preferably in flac and mp3 320kbps.

I see some on this site, but they are in low quality :(

My wish would be at least the original tracks. Some unique tracks from F-ZERO Maximum Velocity and F-ZERO GP Legend would be nice too.

I would love if the album was hard rock and techno only, since there is already an official jazz soundtrack available.

    Cover suggestions:
