Hey guys! Stargazers is my latest release and a really experimental dive into some retro musical motifs and apocalyptic settings. I had an awful lot of fun making it, and I hope some of you enjoy checking it out! The genre is New Wave/Alternative, and the album is always free to listen to on my Bandcamp. Hopefully on a few days it'll be up on various music sites as well, so I can post those in an edit if anyone's interested. Feedback is always appreciated, I'm definitely doing more like this so I'll keep any tips in mind for next time. For fans of rock, I recommend checking out Acid Rain and Chaos Theory. For fans of more electronic songs, check out Meet You at the End and Oblivion. Aviators - Stargazers

I'm a massive fan of both Christopher Nolan and Hans Zimmer, and I think the new movie Interstellar is their best collaboration to date. The music in that movie is... Well... I don't think I can describe it as anything other than magical. As with a lot of music that inspires me, I was compelled to remix it. I rocked it up a bit from the source material, since the source material is pretty mellow, and in my opinion it turned out kinda cool. Check it out if you're a fan of symphonic rock, orchestral music, or just awesome soundtracks! As always, I'd LOVE some feedback too. That's what I come here for.

wip Neverending (Sonic Unleashed - "Endless Possibilities")

No one has given feedback, but that's okay! I went ahead and finished it. That doesn't mean changes can't be made, though. Please give me feedback before I submit it to the judges, anything helps! The song now has vocals, so hopefully that'll make it a bit more interesting. :3 https://soundcloud.com/aviatorscompositions/neverending -
Hey everyone! I just recently finished my third full vocal album, and I'd be honored if you'd check it out! http://music.soundoftheaviators.com/album/mirrors-deluxe-version You know, just take a listen or two, tell me what you think. One of the best parts of releasing an album is the critique that comes with it. I'm always looking to improve!

finished Mario Kart 7 - Rainbow Road (Drum and Bass)

Oh, I love this tune! Excuse my extreme bias to the original while I give my opinion. xD I quite enjoyed the mix, but the mixing and mastering were a little odd. Not obnoxiously off, just maybe a little over compressed and not what I'm used to. A little unbalanced in the low end too, to be honest. Melodically, the piece was heaven to listen to. I loved the arrangement, and the sound design was gorgeous. I liked how you made it sound chiptune-esque but somehow atmospheric and distant. Perhaps that was just the clever and subtle use of reverb? It was fun to listen to, that's my general consensus. -

So, I've worked on it a bit more, but I'm stumped as to what I'm going to do for the bridge. The bridge is really weird in this song, so I was considering totally changing it up, writing my own lyrics, etc. Maybe I could even incorporate a new melody into it, like Rooftop Run from the same game or something. I'm still hoping to get feedback on the song itself, but I'd also love to hear where you guys would be interested to hear the piece go. I'm open to suggestions. For anyone who hasn't heard the original, check out the bridge: Weird, huh? xD -
Hey guys! I'm back with my first game remix in a long time, and again, it's Sonic! Something about that series' soundtrack just drives my inspiration wild. Last time I had a pretty simple remix of the Sonic 3 credits, but this time it's a cheery Drum and Bass cover/remix of Jaret Reddick's "Endless Possibilities", with my own vocals to take the place of his. The vocals aren't in yet, but they will be. I did only start this two days ago. xD But enough about the piece, I'd love it if you could take a listen and give me some feedback! Every bit of critique is useful, positive or negative, and the more specific the better. You can take a listen to a WIP of the song here: https://soundcloud.com/aviatorscompositions/endless-possibilities-remix Thanks for the feedback, and I can't wait to finish this muffersucker up!

I was sure to check the encode settings before I submitted my Sonic 3 mix, "What We Left Behind". I noticed it has gone on the "To Be Posted- Conditional On Encoding" list. If you could let me know what I need to re-encode it as, I'll gladly do so.

This EP is fantastic! The simplistic abstract sounds almost remind me of C418, yet each song has a uniquely strong rhythm. If there's one thing you absolutely nailed, it was the mixing here. Nothing's ever overpowered, it's all fit in nicely. This is going in my iTunes library. I think my favorite would have to be "Fly With Me". It brings childhood memories back for some reason. It's just fun to listen to, yet calming. Keep it up!

Hey there! I've been working on an experimental project recently that ended up taking on a life of its own in the form of a concept album. This album is Aeterno, which is written as the score to fictional video game. There's no game this was based off of (aside from a little TimeShift reference), it's all original, but I figured this would be a great place to share it! I'm trying to brush up my composition skills to get into professional scoring. Sure, I've got a lot to learn, but practice makes perfect! I'm not asking any of you to go buy the album, I just want you to take a listen to a song or two. Tell me what you think. Did I capture the "gamey" atmosphere I was trying to achieve? I'd love nothing more than some feedback. You can find the album here: http://music.soundoftheaviators.com/album/aeterno Thanks!

Random fact: A lot of Sonic fans think that the credits song was based off of Stranger in Moscow, but it's vice versa. MJ was involved with composing for the game, and later made a song with the same chord progression. xD

Well hey there! It's been a while since I posted anything, and I've improved a lot since I was last here, so I decided to give it another shot! I'm working on a remix of the credits song from Sonic 3. Check it out and tell me what you think! http://soundcloud.com/aviatorscompositions/sonic-3-credits-remix-wip

Yup, I'm working on a full-length album. It's going to be Techno/Alternative/Electrorock with a touch of Dubstep. I recently finished the song that will kick off the album, the first track, and I was hoping to get some feedback from people to make necessary improvements. The album is going to be about 10-11 songs, some of which are done. Some will have vocals (Thanks to this awesome singer I know, and my own voice + auto-tune) but some will be instrumental. The first track, "The First Word" is one of the instrumentals. I've put a link below, so if you could please give it a quick listen and tell me what you think, I'd really appreciate it! Any feedback, good or bad, helps me out. Thanks! http://soundcloud.com/aviatorscompositions/the-first-word

I've used samples, I've used VSTi's, I've used SoundFonts, I've tried everything... I just can't seem to make any good sounding string-driven songs. I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions for me... What do you use to make string sounds? Any kind, Cello, Violin, Contrabass, I just want to know how to make at least somewhat realistic compositions. Any links, suggestions or advice I appreciate, thanks!

wip Sonic Heros Sea Side Hill Fusion arrangment *untitled*
Aviators replied to SonicThHedgog's topic in Post Your Game ReMixes!
Wow, pretty nice. It definitely needs a little, just a tiny bit, of electronic backing. Maybe a little bit of bass here and there? Any way you leave it, it's great. Some nice guitar work! I wish you had made it longer, though. The song picked up about halfway through and I was like "Yeah!!" and then it ended. It's gonna be awesome when you finish it. Can't wait. -
My second remix everyone! (Funny, both my remixes are Sonic) The first was a little 'so-so', but this one I'm really feeling something. Lava Reef is one of the most memorable tunes from the genesis days, right up there with Green Hill. I've always thought the tune would sound great if it was slowed down a bunch, and taken to the next level with some dark synths and piano. So, this remix was born! I titled it 'Molten' and you can listen to it or even download it right here: http://soundcloud.com/aviatorscompositions/molten So, this remix is one that I am really committed to finishing and finalizing, and I'm going to submit it when it's done. I have no idea if it'll get through, but hey, I'm determined to at least try. I threw this together with a lot of time and effort, and now I'd love it if you can help me out by commenting on soundcloud, or replying on the thread here. Just tell me what you would like less of, more of, or whatever changes you would make to it. Critique is the best way to improve, so please critique away! -^VIATORS

Okay, here's the second version, even though I know it's not done yet. I just wanted to upload it to see what kind of reaction it gets. I mean, are the changes good, bad? What should I keep, what needs to go? Link to the song: http://soundcloud.com/aviatorscompositions/feeling-lucky-ver-2 Please don't harass me for not taking all of your suggestions everyone, because I still will. This is just phase 2, not the final product.

I have noticed a very alarming lack of Sonic Heroes Remixes around, which in my opinion, has had one of the best soundtracks of all time. So, I've been working on this Casino Park Remix, hoping to submit it at some point (If I make some needed improvements), and I'd like to hear what some other people might think of it. Here's the link: http://soundcloud.com/aviatorscompositions/feelin-lucky As I'm sure you guessed from the link, this is titled "Feeling Lucky". Yeah, the title is lame, I know. Got any better Ideas? This piece has been a work-in-progress of mine for a while now. It's my first remix, but I feel like it could have some potential. And I REALLY enjoy remixing, so I will definitely be making more, no matter how bad they are! The only issue with this song is that there's something missing... Like something's not coming together, and there's something that OC remixes have and I don't. I know I shouldn't compare to the pros, but can anyone tell me what it's lacking? -^VIATORS
