Hi guys,
I found your thread about Electri6ity here (I'm the developer behind Electri6ity), that's why I wanted to chime in. I agree that Shreddage sounds great for rhythm. But anyway, Electri6ity can do ryhthm as well! I think the biggest difference is, that Shreddage was recorded having metal as main style in mind while Electri6ity is a multi purpose instrument that can be used for all kind of guitar styles.
Essential for a good rhythm sound is a good amp sound however.
I can recommend http://www.theserinaexperiment.net/website/software.html (TSE X30, which simulates an Engl 530 preamp and is freeware) in combination with the TSE 808 tube screamer (can also be found on that website) using the Cabinet simulation from http://lepouplugins.blogspot.com/ with different cabinet impulses (cabinets have a big impact on the sound!)
The good thing is that all those amps are freeware and beat most commerical plugins, especially in terms of realism. Those amps are definitely worth trying out! No matter if you'll end up using Electri6ity, Shreaddage or any other guitar library.
Here are a few Electri6ity demos done by Javi Perera (who uses mostly freeware amps e.g. LeCTO which can be found here: http://lepouplugins.blogspot.com/2011/02/lecto-au.html):

PS: It definitely doesn't hurt having both libraries
