  1. Hey guys. I just want to stop by and share my music that I've recorded and performed to using my keytar! I actually composed this all on my Korg Triton Extreme... but I got my Ax-Synth the other day and think it's sweet! The song is called Supersonic. It's actually inspired by the Special Stage in Sonic Thee Hedgehog. Some may catch some similarities. Anyways, I will definitely be recording more youtube performances in the near future featuring the keytar. Enjoy!
  2. This is part 4 of my orchestral series, The Legend of Pumpkin King. Youtube description: They call it "The Reaper of Notes", an ancient weapon and instrument that can put even the most ruthless of warriors to rest through its charming sound. However, without the reaper in Pumpkin King's possession, it is merely a timeless artifact. Sound will not project from the blade. His pendent glows as bright and niveous as the mountains in the distance. Yet, the closer he approaches the mountain trails, the more steadily the pendant dims. When Pumpkin King finally reaches the origins of the trails, the pendant, once as luminous as the glare of his eyes, becomes as tainted as the skies above.
  3. Yeah that is weird. It works for me. Maybe it's because of the file format when I uploaded it to youtube? I didn't convert it right, which is why it seems a little off sync. Anyways I edited the link, maybe that'll help. But thank you for listening! Appreciate the feedback.
  4. I really enjoyed the soundtrack for this game, and wanted to do a cover for one of the songs. This one is based off the harp version of Eclipse of time. Source: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jmcwf7jQ5vw My piano cover: http://youtu.be/_Gq46o9BGA0
  5. Hey man, thanks! I really appreciate the feedback. And yes, the second half did get a little off track, to me. I was performing it in a hurry without having rehearsed it in quite awhile. So that part was improvised in a different direction I thought it would go. But I wanted to send it to Dwelling of Duels that night, so that's why it was rushed. Anyways... thanks again!
  6. This one is a bit different from what I normally do. It starts with piano and builds up later with synthesizers and keyboard solos. Feedback is appreciated!
  7. I've been seeing a lot of covers for this song lately... Well this one is my piano arrangement for Mystic Cave Zone from Sonic 2. I named it Gloom of the Mysterious Cave. Don't really like the title but oh well. And I think the performance probably could have been better during the second half. I sort of rushed it and improvised a little. Anyways, enjoy. 8. I like the arrangement! When I was listening I was hoping you'd take it in a another direction, and you did it well in the middle at 1:04. A few things, yeah the reverb is a bit weird. And the mix is very centered. It sounds like a mono mix, but the pianos are spread to the left and right channels. I'd say experiment with different instrument panning. Maybe spread out the cymbals a little. You could also try out some slight delays. Maybe try it out on the pianos and give it just a little bit of reverb... Just some ideas. What DAW did you use? Other than that, I liked it. With its consistency it could do well as some kind of rap, with some melodic vocals here in there (definitely some harmonies in the middle of the song). Imo
  9. Thanks G-Mixer! Yep again I wanted to use that reverb to my advantage. I think if I played it any more in depth, I would have had to adjust the settings on the reverb.
  10. I listened to that video. I like the sound, man! Let's stay in touch.
  11. This sounds pretty awesome man. In terms of the dynamics, I think it wouldn't hurt if you had a section that slowed everything down. Maybe add some clean electric guitars to slow the pace down, along with good use of cymbals. Keyboards wouldn't hurt, I'd love to help. I'm currently looking at this song to do my own cover with keyboard leads. But honestly I think this sounds perfect for the length. Killer guitars... Honestly there's no need to slow anything down that's less than 3 minutes. Awesome job.
  12. Thanks man. I submitted it. I think I know what to expect if they review it, however.
  13. Thanks for the comments, Dhsu. Yeah, I made it to be super simplistic. With the reverb that I applied, I didn't want to go too crazy with arpeggios like I sometimes do. It would have been too much. I easily could have made the left hand do a bit more, and possibly played octaves with the right hand near the end... but I didn't. Or I could have come up with another original section like I played at 0:59, but I probably would have taken it too far for anyone to recognize the tune. I still sent it in as a submission because I think it's one of those pieces that's better strictly listening to rather than watching. We shall see... but I'm not too worried. I think I may have a piano piece that's what OCR is looking for. I'm working on the arrangement now.
  14. Thanks man for the feedback. I'm glad you liked it. And yep no prob!
  15. Yeah those were some comments I was expecting. I know I could have gone a bit further with the arrangement and made it more in depth, but I'm happy with my performance. It was shorter and to the point. Thanks man for listening.
  16. Hey guys. This one is a piano cover for Sky Chase Zone from Sonic 2. I'm not sure if it would be considered a remix or not. Most of my stuff usually doesn't fit the criteria. But this one I tried to keep true to the original, but slow it down and keep it clean. So if anyone could give me their thoughts and tell me if it could be considered a remix for OCRemix, that'd be cool. Source: My piano version:
  17. Did some slight updates on the song. And changed the song title for specific reasons. As it says on the youtube description: Pumpkin King discovers a divine power within himself and his weapon as he makes his way into the corrupted forest. Not only can he slay his enemies through his keyboard solos... he also wields the power to purify any corruption that surrounds him with his beautiful melodies.
  18. This is part 3 of the series. This music project again is pretty much about my alias, Pumpkin King. Part 3 (Edited): For anyone interested in the other songs, check them out. And subscribe if you like my stuff, etc.
  19. Hey people, I also did a new version. This one I played keyboard leads to my arrangement. Check it out guys.
  20. Just an orchestral arrangement/cover for Stickerbush Symphony from Donkey Kong Country 2. With this song, I went about everything similarly with my other DKC orchestral arrangements. I did have to omit some melodies and sounds from the arrangement here because some things seemed out of place. So I think it worked out for the better. One thing for example... I did want to have some sort of guitar solo kinda thing in the middle of the song, but it wouldn't make sense to have that in there along with my orchestra (tried a flute, and it didn't flow how I wanted). Other things didn't work because I was having trouble with the instrumentation. I think most of my problems had to do with the samples I had. Or it just didn't work with orchestral instruments. If anyone wants to give suggestions, go ahead. I may look into another version, with just some simple touch-ups. I'm still happy with it though. Anyways, check it out on my youtube channel and give me some feedback! Again, this is not a remix. When it comes to certain pieces of music like this, I try to keep true to the original piece. And I share it here because I know people here enjoy vgm. Source: My arrangement: My arrangement including keyboard leads:
  21. Thanks for listening. The link is on my description of the video, which includes all the other submissions for July. Some were pretty good. You could just right click whatever song is there and then click "save as".
  22. Thanks man, I appreciate it! I enjoyed your entry as well. It was very relaxing.
  23. Hey everyone. Here's a little piano medley I recorded awhile back. I submitted it for Dwelling of Duels and got 2nd. It's for The Legend of Zelda. The songs/themes included are Ballad of the Goddess (Skyward Sword), Saria's Song (Ocarina of Time), and Song of Healing (Majora's Mask). It's weird how a lot of the songs from Zelda are in pretty much the same key. You don't even notice it. That's why I did this and tried to make a song out of it. I may try to do another version with other songs (which is why this is v.1). Anyways, enjoy! Sources: Ballad of the Goddess: Saria's Song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RVlqk9yZf2c Song of Healing: My Piano Medley: Also, you can check out the rest of the songs on the link included in my youtube description. They are free to check out and even download.
  24. Thanks guys, really glad you like it. I may include an mp3 for the song sometime. In the meantime I'd like everyone to get a chance to simply watch my performance on youtube, rather than sharing an mp3 at the moment. I don't want it to get spread around throughout the internet, since I figure some people won't even bother finding out who did it. I have many more songs that I've done that I'd like everyone to check out on my page, and not just covers. Not trying to be selfish, hope I'm not.. Just trying to get more support before I throw my stuff out there. Hope that makes sense.
