  1. Ooooh, an Ocarina of Time AND a Majora's Mask remix project?! Hot darn! is your MM project an OCR album? What's the link to the thread (or website if it isn't an OCR album)? I'd like to follow your progress with the album. :D

More on-topic, I am constantly following the progress of this album, and I am SO excited for this. Thanks to all who will work on this project. ^_^

Here's the link to the Majora's Mask project. We aren't a official OCR album yet, but we are working on becoming one.

    Tear of the Moon

  2. I'm trying to get my Majora's Mask: Tears of the Moon Musical project onto the Projects forum, but it keeps telling me that I don't have permission to post there. Does anyone know what is up with that? Do I need to level up from my Goomba statues? If so, how do I do that?

  3. Hello, MangaMan here.

I've only been on this site for a short while and I suppose I should have came here first but oh well.

I review manga and anime on both my blip.tv channel and Youtube channel called MangaMan Reviews.

I'm also the project coordinator for the Majora's Mask: Tears of the Moon Musical Remix project (Recruiting now!).

Big fan of anime, love music, and I love video games.

  4. It has been brought up before, but now I'll try to really spell it all out. The idea for this project is to take the story and music from the Legend of Zelda Majora's Mask and create a musical from it.

Now this isn't going to be like a live show like another member of this project is working on.

I was afraid at first that this was too big a project to handle, until I saw just how big the latest MegaMan X: Maverick Rising album was.

    We can do it guys!

I've already started to contact some people on this website to see if they would be interested in helping out. Right now I'm more worried about getting a Composer and Remixers than I am about getting singers.

If you guys can go out on the site yourselves and see if you can't recruit some people, that would be awesome!

Just like the Maverick Rising album was made up of multiple CD's, the same will be true for Tears of the Moon.

This Post is for music tracks only. A new Character Audition post will be posted shortly.

Each CD will contain songs to a certain area and will be an Act for the musical.

Each area will have a different style to it and they are as follows:

    Day 1-Countdown to Destruction

    • Will cover the beginning of the game to when Link reverts back to his normal self and after the Happy Mask Sales Man tells the tale of Majora's Mask.
The style will be up for interpretation.

  5. Sorry to drag this topic back up again but I want to let everyone know that Kyle has very kindly agreed to host project discussions at the KNGI board.

    http://kngi.org/phpbb3/

So yeah, set up an account, let me know about it, and i'll see you all there. :-D

And for anyone who wants to know, tracks are still available! Check out my intro post and get in touch - we want remixers, experienced or not, i'd love to hear your take on the Wind Waker.

Can any project use this website? Could I get my Majora's Mask Musical up on there?

  6. Anyone not familiar with Operation Moonfall, check out the link here:

    http://operation-moonfall.org/

As the project director, I've decided that it would be a good idea to tie in our efforts with that of Operation Moonfall. This project will act as promotion for OMF (Operation Moonfall) and their efforts, the fans efforts, to get Majora's Mask a 3DS release. There have been many albums on this site that have honored, supported, or just payed tribute to game titles (Skyward Sword and the 25 OC-Remix tribute album is one of these examples).

This will not only be supporting a worthy cause but it will also gain more attention to our efforts and hopefully will gain us new recruits to help. So check out Operation Moonfall and give your support. I will try to contact who every is in charge of Operation Moonfall and see if we can't work something out.

This project is still in it's infant state and still needs more support to keep it going. I need ALL lyric writers to message me or contact me anyway they can. We need to really get rolling with writing the lyrics. I know we are all busy with life, school, work, and other projects, but please contact me as soon as you can. I would like to have ALL THE LYRICS for the album completed by the end of June, but will only happen if we can get everyone together and start pounding this out.

I will soon be ready to submit our project to the heads of OC-Remix for a possible OFFICIAL ALBUM STATUES! A few of you have been good at working on this project, even if a small portion, and have been good at keeping in contact with me. Others I haven't heard from in quit some time and that really worries me. Please don't make me have to track you down just to see how you are doing. Check in with me every once in a while, like at most once a week.

Thank you all for your time and efforts. Lets create one hell of a great Majora's Mask Album and open the door too more opportunities for all of the talented singers that have yet to really shine on this site!

  7. Thanks! I'll be sure to get my email to him right away.

Unfortunately I've never composed anything of my own, nor do I know how to play any instruments well enough to really perform. However, I do enjoy writing, so I may be able to help come up with lyrics!

If you know anyone that would be interested in this, weather as a vocalist, composer, remixer, or whatever, please direct them to this page and have them voice their interest.

  8. Hey, I've been lurking on the site for years now, but when I saw this thread I decided I oughta express my interest in helping out. Not sure exactly what parts have been taken and what's still open for auditions, so I'll leave it up to the project's director to decide what part I can take, or if I'm to take a part at all. :P

I'm a baritone/tenor, and I've been singing with my college choir for a few years now. Currently I'm taking private voice lessons with the conductor. Through his classes, I've learned a lot of gorgeous music; I'll have videos to share of myself singing those pieces by the end of May. I hope that won't be too late. In the meantime, I'll link a video of myself from about a year ago.

    Hope everyone enjoys it!

You have a great voice! I'd be honored to have you help with this project. Does your musical talents extend further (Can you play any instruments or compose music or write lyrics)? With that vibrato I'd put you on the Ikana Canyon tracks, possibly as KING IGOS DU IKANA, but I could fit you in on any part. Welcome to the team! Please forward Champ the Hippie your email so that you can access the Tears of the Moon Wiki

    http://tearsofthemoon.wikispaces.com/

  9. Hey. I don't really know how to say this... but I'm probably going to drop 'Mikau'.

I might come back to it later... if I get the chance.

But, it seems that noone else has a part, and I don't feel there are enough OCR peeps (as in posted mixers) involved.

Sorry for any inconvenience. But my times cut a little short by projects as it is.

    - Callum

Totally understandable, everybody is busy. I'm planning on setting some time aside to really pound out the guidelines. Then I'll try to get this project an official OC-Remix album status and that will hopefully gain more attention. I was planning on taking some roles for myself but I wanted to wait and see want everyone wanted. Thank you for letting me know and there will always be a place for you here Callum!

  10. i just had the idea to maintain a cast list on the wiki. there are a few different ways we could go about it, though.

    1. a list of all the characters in the show on the homepage and who is voicing them

    2. a list of all the characters in each act and who plays them at the beginning of each act

    3. a separate page for the cast list

    4. having the name of the person who voices the character in parentheses after the first instance of the character's name before his line

    [eg:

link (champ the hippie): this is the line to the song i'm singing

tatl (mangaman): why are you singing this song?

link: because i'm tired of my silent mantra!

tatl: i liked you better silent!]

    Sounds good to me.

  11. I don't have any pre-done work, but send me some lyrics and/or sheet music for the vocals, and I'll get going right away.

Well could you just sing a song you are comfortable with, it doesn't have to be a video game song or even a musical song. It's just something that I can get an idea of your vocal range. For vocals all I ask is a sample and you can even use a karaoke track if you need to. For instrumentation and composition or remixing, I'll need to see some examples of that as well.

  12. Here is a work in progress for the Major's Meeting song.

(note: several of the lyrics do not match up with the tempo. This is just something to work with that my friend and I came up with.)

    Mayor’s Song

    (Two verses reframe before lyrics)

    Viscen & Mutoh

    Should we run or celebrate?

The truth the mayor’s sure to know,

Would you kindly tell this windbag

    how to run the show.

    Viscen

    Many of the townsfolk have

    Already packed up and fled,

    The moon draws closer everyday,

Can’t you get that through your head?

    Mayor= Yes I see…

    Mutoh

    Upholding our old traditions

That’s what always made us strong.

The moon is just a harmless rock,

in this I can’t be Wrong!

    Mayor=You have a point…

    Viscen

    Mayor listen,

    We must escape,

    Head for the highest hills

    Before that moon kills

    Us all.

    Mutoh

You soldiers always boasted how you’re the

    Bravest fighters in the land.

You’re a bunch of spineless cowards,

    When actions in demand

    Viscen & Mutoh

Who let in this gloomy Deku

    and this chatty little sprite?

Do not interrupt me when I’m

    proving that I’m right!

  13. Hm. Can't see why the soldier/postman/carpenters are important parts that need to be sung. Any info they have could just as easily be conveyed by the Bombers. The more unnecessary parts we cut out, the better the music will flow, as they'll be much more recognizable, rather than trying to follow which voice is which character. Props on the Tingle idea, though. Little fairy can go bugger himself. :3

I understand, the post man can be cut, but I want to keep the Carpenters & soldiers at least can be the chorus.

  14. Those that don't have a song that they already working on, we need to get started on working on the lyrics. For these collab lyrics people will put in there own ideas and the group as a whole will work on the lyrics to that song. For the first song I'd like to focus on is the Clock Town song. First the lyrics to the 1st day we'll work on first...firstly.

The first day is the buzz of excitement for the upcoming festival, but at the same time a sense of foreboding as the towns people look at the ominous moon.

    Singers include:

    -The Carpenters:

They sing mostly about working to get the festival ready.

    -The Deku Shrub Salesman:

Basically sings about how he's sold all his wares and is just waiting for the festival. His wife has been bugging him about getting her a Moon's Tear.

    -The Postman:

His lyrics should be very repetitive, like a drum, singing about delivering mail.

    -Soldier's:

During the first part of the Musical, before Link get's his ocarina back, the soldier's sing about how they can't let Deku Link outside because it is too dangerous without a sword. They also feel uneasy about the moon.

    -Tingle:

Yes you are reading that right, Tingle gets a singing part...a very small one. Basically through the course of the Musical, Tingle will begin to sing about his maps and fairies...but then Tatl will steer Link away from him and the music will continue as if Tingle never sung at all. Basically a joke:razz:

  15. I think we need to also figure out what style of opera/musical we're going for. Obviously, there will be influences coming from the game as well as each remixers own style, but are we shooting for something akin to Andrew Lloyd Weber? Stephen Schwartz? Stephen Sondheim? Gilbert & Sullivan?

That is a very good point QrangeDragan and one that has been on my mind for awhile. First I think we should figure out the differences between the different Musical styles and see which matches with what we are going for.

  16. Sounds like an excellent project. I've done some MM remixes already, but I guess using them would be a bit lazy. I'd like to try for a 2nd remix of the Song Of Healing and see how that goes. I'm willing to try any other songs from the game too, as long as they're within my ability.

That's fine, just have lyrics in mind when your creating it. I'm already familiar with your work, I just need to know what all you can do so that I can list it on the forum for everyone else to see. It's so everyone who needs to collaborate with people will know what all you can do.
