Thank you! I can also help with orchestration/arrangement. Maybe "orchestral production"?
Sure thing !I'll list you as having claimed the track . Nice source choice by the way .
What would you like me to list it as in the Resources Section? Orchestral Mastering, is this fine ?

Also, I'd be happy to lend orchestral skills as a resource. Check out my sig if you need examples!

Nice music,it's calm and for some reason i'm thinking about Assassin's Creed atmosphere,strange...
Hey Xouman, at first I was like, WHA?! Assassin's Creed? But I think I see what you mean now, especially during AC's more contemplative moments.
This is really good I'm finding it inspiring since I'm working on music for an rpg as well! It actually reminds me of Tales of Symphonia, most of that game's forest music is not your typical happy woods fair lol.I have yet to play Tales of Symphonia, but I've heard good things about the Tales series. Glad I could offer some inspiration to a fellow musician!
Thanks for listening guys!

Wow, when you said "forest theme for a fantasy RPG" I expected something pleasant, calming, and a bit generic; maybe some woodwind or jungle percussion to drive home the point.
But what I heard was quite beautiful, thoughtful as it struck notes I didn't really expect. The vocals added just the right touch of mystery. Best of all, I feel like it could loop a whole bunch of times before getting stale. That said, it is rather short. Any plans on extending it?
I like it, sir, for whatever that's worth!
Thanks for listening Emblem!
I was definitely going for a more mysterious, dark sort of mood for this particular forest rather than the typical "happy, bright forest". I'm glad to hear you say it struck notes you didn't expect, as I was trying to achieve a distinctive sound.
It is indeed shorter than my usual fare, since the fellow who commissioned it wanted it to be that short. I might come back to it and extend it, since it was fun to work on and I can probably find more ways to explore it. Thanks for the suggestion!

This is a short loop commissioned for the forest theme of an upcoming fantasy RPG. Feedback welcome!

I only listened to Polka, but I liked it! Nice shifting between the more chaotic segments and the smoother bits. Good variety too, and nice mix of acoustic and electronic.

It's been a while since I did the whole hybrid deal, so this was refreshing!

This is freakin' rad man! Vocals are definitely the most awesome part but the whole thing is killer.
Thanks Jason!

Awesome stuff. It's always nice to hear some orchestral music that isn't a stereotypical movie/epic type of piece now and then.
Thanks Chris! Yeah, I'm trying to do some stuff outside the "epic trailer" sound. Nothing wrong with it (I'm guilty of it sometimes), but it's kind of everywhere these days.
Used chamber strings on this instead of my big symphonic sections to give it a closer, more intimate feel.

No problem! To clarify my post, I meant that it gave me the same feeling that the dojo scene in Matrix 1 gave me, not that your song sounded like a ripoff of it. Just wanted to make sure you didn't take it the wrong way.

Nice! Definitely reminded me of the dojo scene at 0:31.

Hey there,
I like this; nicely composed. However, even though it's a loop, I think it can use more movement. It's all kind of one level right now, and I feel like there should be accented moments (maybe some brass stabs, cymbal crashes, low string ostinatos?) As it is, I feel it's a little two mellow for a final dragon boss. It's ominous, but it doesn't get my blood rushing as much as I want it to. Good start though, and I think with a little more work it'll get there!

So the perfectionist in me went back and replaced the old choir with another choir library. I also tightened up some of the drums; I had intended them to be a bit loose, but I realized they were too loose in some places.
Anyway, this new version is up (same link above)!

That was sweet! Lovely overall sound, nice space-y/spectral feel you managed to create. Vocalist was awesome too!
Thank you, glad you liked it!

Hey there,
Nice textures and atmosphere. I tend to like dark and heavy stuff though, so maybe I'm a bit biased.
-
It sounds really good!
Only feedback I can think of is for the beginning: I understand that you want the piano solo to sound human, but it sounds a bit too loose between hands at times. It is only in a couple of small spots, but it mainly sticks out to me at 0:20-0:22. It might be completely in my head though as it is late and I've been listening to music all day.
Hey Daniel, thanks for the feedback. It's not in your head, it is a bit loose, but I felt it lent to the contemplative character. Definitely one of those borderline preference things.

Just going to favorite this so I can listen tomorrow!
Cool, let me know what you think!

Hey there, welcome to OCR! For a first composition with no background in music theory, this is actually quite good! You've got good harmony and instrumentation going on there and it really shows a lot of promise. It's rough and raw, but you've got musical talent and that's, of course, the important thing. Keep working at it, and nice job!
