  1. The Silent Hill comic has been out for months. Don't bother with it. It's a horrible, horrible series that treats the franchise like a crappy gore flick.
  2. Will these remixes include the original boss tunes from Sonic 3 or only those from Sonic & Knuckles?
  3. Danke. Just figured this thread shouldn't die.
  4. Various Silent Hill wallpapers made by a bloke I know from other forums. Also, music videos (Be sure to Right-click, Save as, otherwise Angelfire will disable them): Restless Dreams Inner Fears Sweet Sugar Walter BONUS! Ambient music that works for Silent Hill-esque scenarios by a guy named Walking 0. P.S. Bump.
  5. Anyone here read the SIlent Hill: Dying Inside comics? I've just finished reading them myself. The artwork, done by Ben Templesmith, who did 30 Days of Night, works well for the Silent Hill universe, in my opinion. I wouldn't say it's a bad comic book adaptation, but it isn't fully accurate, and it all feels rushed near the end. It's also very "comic-book" too, as it features substantial amounts of gunplay. One of it's major flaws though is it's lack of subtlety, something which made the games great, as well as truly introspective humanity. It also becomes kind of campy once the whole gothic punk teenager crowd is involved, but overall, I'd say it's decent and doesn't rape the franchise.
  6. The Douglas joke was a dissapointment. It could have introduced a huge moral quandry into the game and even the series. But no, it had to be a joke.
  7. The E3 trailer for Silent Hill 4 is available on http://www.gametrailers.com/, among other juicy titles. Just thought I'd point that out.
  8. On the suicidal stripper theory and coming back from the dead: I'm taking the easy way out on this one, but it could be all considered a matter of perspective. Remember the holes James jumps through? Who's too say the fall wouldn't kill him (And I still like reffering to that Silent Hill ending. Hell would truly be not realising that you're dead already. Think about how big a mind-fuck it would be to wake up one day, faced by indescribable monstrosities when in fact you died the night before)? Essentially, the town is one huge mind fuck. We never actually see Maria getting stabbed by Pyramid Head's spear during the hospital chase scene (Remember, you get game over if she does die during the chase). As far as I recall, the only moment where you actually witness her death is near the end, with the two Pyramid Heads. Finally, I don't think the demon in sheep's clothing theory works. In one ending, you actually face off Mary, not Maria. And we already established that Maria dies by the hand of the two Pyramid Heads. Just my opinion, but I think that considering Maria as a normal person, not a monster, but who's being controlled and manipulated by the town to make James suffer is far more entertaining and amusing. Kind of adds to the humanity of it all. It's very possible that Maria loses it, hence the dialogue in the labyrinth, thanks to the towns influence (Remember, there too, you don't witness her die. You only find the body later). If anything, one thing that has to be known due to the way how monsters are perceived differently from person to person is that nothing should be taken at face value.
  9. Hehe.... http://www.whatthefun.net/sh/ph.html http://www.geocities.com/kramwartap/konami_artwork.html http://www.saintbrendan.com/cdnjune01/sclem6.html http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Pyramid+Head
  10. And he could have butterfly attacks! And he could rape crush you! I compensate for the lack of PH by using Nightmare with the Giant Buster (I think it's the name. Looks like a rusty, flat, rectangular blade).
  11. Wasn't it hinted at some stage that Eddie was being chased by the police, which is why he left his own town and hid in Silent Hill? I need to see that final Eddie/James dialogue again... (Pyramid Head should have been in the PS2 version of Soul Calibur 2, damn it!)
  12. In the ending she doesnt shoot herself, she throws the revolver over the wall where you meet Laura Think of it this way...In SH1, one of the endings implies that you died and went to Hell. Maybe, in a similiar fashion, she did shoot herself and couldn't "remember", much like the implied car accident in SH1. As such, she is trapped in her own personal Hell, and James is a redemption of sorts, which is why she is pushed to gain his acceptance.
  13. Or maybe Maria did shoot herself, then the town "absorbed" her essence to it's own ends.
  14. What's funny about the born from a wish scenario is that you get a 10 round revolver. >.>
  15. Do you think he was really joking ??? O_o° That part REALLY pissed me off! There I was thinking that maybe they'd insert some HUGE moral quandry in the SH series, really making us question what we were doing, but no, it's all a fucking joke. Talk about smothered hopes..
  16. Well, I don't want this thread to die, so bump. *SPOILER* Also, in SH2, does anyone happen to know the name to the song in the hotel when it's flooded, after seeing the video? *SPOLIER*
  17. Well, apart from what I posted, I haven't found much official info.Somewhere in this thread are a few pages to a Silent Hill 4 promotional comic book. And there is always the trailer.
  18. Silent Hill 4 And the trailer is out. I found it at www.gametrailers.com , I recommend you guys check it out.
  19. Because in the endings were you face Maria rather than Mary, well, Maria's pissed off. James confesses his sins and accepts them, but Maria doesn't see it that way, because she feels that James is still lying (i.e. Protecting Mary, the representation of what James wanted in Maria rather than what he actually had).As for when you face Mary, James finally sees the truth and realises that he wasn't facing reality. His illusions made him kill Mary, because she wasn't what he wanted. He was too scared to face the truth. The shock is too great for him so he commits suicide. I feel that the In Water ending is the best, myself. As for the reason behind her shape when she transforms into a daemon: She looks like the hanged men that Pyramid Heads have. Whether it's Mary or Maria, both of them are tortured by the town. It seems to me that it was a bizzarre competitive situation were either Mary or Maria would be free, and that depended on James' judgement. Obviously, the loser gets pissed, reveals her true tortured form that the town caused and fights back.
  20. And you are correct. Shot from behind apparently. Most likely from Eddie.AN omen of things to come? Or maybe it's actually a manifestation of James' desire of self-destruction.
