  1. I have to ask: Would people be terribly disappointed if Sonic were not in SSB:B? I'm starting to wonder. I haven't heard any mention of Sonic other than fan-fueled interest.

I would be a little disappointed that he is in an Olympic game with Mario and not Smash Brothers as well.

  2. STOP SPECULATING YOU WHORES!

    sheesh

Oh! A whore from Grand Theft Auto. That would be a wonderful character. In fact, I'm almost certain they will have one.

    </jokester>

Of course, I believe a discussion on the few currently announced characters would be a tad boring. Speculation is what little we have at the moment, and even though this discussion probably goes on at Gamefaqs around the clock, I've always found the discussion a little more civil here. But I'll leave the confirmed cases to IGN and Smash Bros. Dojo.

  3. See, this is pretty much the opposite of what I've heard. Weird, huh?

You know, I read that too a while ago. It was from the FAQ of SoundExchange. It still is there today.

Do I need to be a member of SoundExchange to receive satellite subscription royalties?

No. SoundExchange was ordered by the U.S. Copyright Office to pay anyone whose sound recordings have been performed by digital cable and satellite television subscription services (Muzak and Music Choice). In order to be paid by SoundExchange, you must provide the proper payee information. (See Forms) SoundExchange is currently the sole entity designated to collect these royalties.

    What about webcasting?

"The recent U.S. Copyright Office ruling regarding webcasting designated SoundExchange to collect and distribute to all nonmembers as well as its members. The Librarian of Congress issued his decision with rates and terms to govern the compulsory license for webcasters (Internet-only radio) and simulcastors (retransmissions)." (http://soundexchange.com/faq.html#b4)

The italic bold words are those that made people worry.
  4. I wouldn't mind it at all if they pulled out a lot of the old cast. I want a new game with new characters. In fact, the more they pull out, the more they can focus on brand new characters you know and love.

 Really, they can do anything.... I just wanna play it.

  5. i wasnt a big fan of the last paper mario on cube. but i cant lie, the new one looks crazy good. i love how you can switch from 2D to 3D kinda like turning a piece of paper around. nintnedo never ceases to amaze me with new and innovative ways to play.

    *ahem* It should be...

"Intelligent Systems Co., Ltd., an internal developer owned by Nintendo, never ceases to amaze me with new and innovative ways to play."

  6. The title made me think somebody was placing their suicide letter on OCRemix. (Personally, where I would place it if I were suicidal.)

I guess that shows you how much I've kept up with anime lately.

  7. And I cannot lie.

    Those Mario brothers can't deny.

That when a Koopa comes in and starts laying waste

With a fireball to your face

    You're well-done.

    Wanna go down, though

Cuz you notice that Peach was stole'

Deep in the castle she's waitin'

    I'm hooked and Bowser's baitin'

Oh, Bowsie I wanna get past ya,

And take you out to pasture.

My homeboys tried to tell me not

    But that lava you got

    Make me so hot!

    Ooh, spikey turtle shell

You say you wanna send me to hell?

Well abuse me, abuse me, cuz you aint that average Koopy

    BOWSER CAME BACK

WOAH. I'm not sure what just happened, but I somehow think somebody just got served.

  8. The biggest cockblocker to anyone enjoying the Wii right now though is zero online play. Seriously, why the hell can't I play something simple like Gunstar Heroes online? Lazy fgts.

There is so totally online play. You see, the Everyone Votes channel has an amazing feature where you can compete with everybody the world over by guessing which answer of a two-answer mutliple choice question is what most people will pick.

  9. I believe the rule was that the character must have appeared on a Nintendo console once. There's been Final Fantasies on Nintendo, but I believe VII characters are out of the loop. In any case, from the same article I read many moons ago, the people making the man in charge was hoping for at least 2-3 non-Nintendo characters. (I included Snake...)

Oh... here are the three rules:

1.) They must have appeared on a Nintendo console.

2.) They must have originated in a video game.

    3.) No anime/manga characters.

I'm hoping for an Advance Wars related character, personally.

  10. Which is why Sonic was also in F-zero GX.

I don't think it confirms anything. Plus, if Sonic was actually added, wouldn't he appear in a much earlier trailer to generate loads more hype for the game?

Not saying it's impossible, I just don't understand why people keep reading these things as hints for Brawl.

In my opinion, Sonic doesn't translate well to Smash Bros; he doesn't fight, he runs fast T__T.

Oh ho ho. Ye of little faith shall bow before my well-tuned opinions in time. Hohoho.

Yeah. Perhaps I jumped to a conclusion there. But, I believe Sonic would make a good Brawl character. He's got the jumpy-spiney attack. He's got the speed dash attack. He can probably through a Chao or something.

And while I am still interested in this game, I would prefer to see Sonic and Mario star in Brawl together before the Olympics game.

  11. I know my friend criticizes OCR all the time because of how 'impersonal' it is. He feels that you can't have meaningful conversations when referring to someone only by their online moniker. Of course, who cares what he thinks...

My point is, having the option to include your real name seems like a good idea to me... and would appease the naysayers...

Oh, Decoy Octopus, you are always so correct.

  12. Matt Watts

    yo

You scared me for a second. I am a friend of somebody named Matt Watts that I met randomly in some political group on Facebook. I thought the world was really that small. But I suppose its all and well now that I know of two Matt Watts's on Facebook.

  13. Rumors up on the Internet sound like there may be a Katamari Damacy made for the Wii, as well as a different Xbox 360/PS3 version. I imagine this could be an enjoyable experience. This may come out this November.

Add that to NiGHTS and Wii Guitar Hero as dream games hoped out sometime in the future for the Wii.

  14. This thing looks killer, but I'm still gonna hold out for a price drop(if any), plus, I'm kind of wondering whether this is bogus or not, so best to wait 'til E3 to see about this.. With the news that Ace Combat and Devil May Cry are going to the 360, along with Virtua Fighter, I think I might just be hooked on the idea of buying a 360, though.

My roommate was thinking about trading in his 360 for a PS3. But the fact Devil May Cry, one of his favorite series, is now going to 360 as well, he's not switching. And I've known this guy for a long time. He was the biggest Sony fanboy I knew.

  15. A Nintendo product tester, huh? I remember reading one of those 3-page magazines that book catalogs gave out back in elementary school. One issue was about dream jobs, and that was one of the few listed. If my memory serves me right, it said they had to have degrees in programming to understand the game fully or something.

    Hmmmmm...

Well, a little bit of google power has resulted in an official Nintendo response to the many children out there dreaming of such a job. It seems they contract out such beautiful jobs to two companies. Both seem to be technical companies, so I'd imagine they want more than kids still going through high school, huh. All are based in Redmond, Washington--not off-site stay-at-home testing.

    Edit: Hmm!

I did find this job posting on one of their sites. It's for a bilingual French-English speaker. It just says you need good writing skills and the ability to speak and write in both languages.

    Here's their job description.

Product Testers test development software, identify programming errors and anomalies, evaluate product for content guidelines, and document testing phases of bug checks. Testers document the audible or visual bugs through written and oral description. Bilingual testers will also check French dialogue and in-game text game for correct spelling and grammar. Strong written and oral English and French skills are a must. Product Testers may assist in proofreading manuals or documents in French. Product Testers must be detailed and be highly analytical. Testers are required to sit for long periods of time (up to three hours) and perform repetitive and monotonous tasks. Product Testing is not simply playing video games. Be aware that the development software being tested may include software of an adult nature.

$12.50 an hour. Not shabby pay for something that just requires writing skills in two languages.

=) Just researching for the sake of knowing. I've got other career paths that interest me more at the moment.

  16. I played Elebits for 20 minutes when I bought it and have not played it since.

    I have no idea why.

Yeah--I didn't really like it at first. It seemed really mundane. But that all changes in the last few levels. It's sort of like Katamari Damacy. It starts off tiny, but the ending is amazingly fun.
