But the E.T. carts themselves are buried in Alamogordo...
We're taking the path the trucks took, from El Paso to Alamogordo. Possibly visit the warehouse itself.
-
El Paso is where the Atari warehouse that contained the doomed copies of E.T. the Extraterrestrial was located.
http://www.auburn.edu/~clontsc/etmarch/about/
I just named the cities we'd be traveling through to go straight to El Paso, our destination. This might change as we find more stuff to do along the way.
-
Um, Sudokus teach you logic, not math.
There's not much difference between the two. Especially when you get to doing proofs.

We're planning our roadtrip for E.T.'s March (see the link in my signature), but we have more time than necessary for the planned stops we have right now.
What I'm interested in are any places we can stop and check out to include in the documentary. Any really cool arcades, gamer clubs, video game companies... anything else that would fit in documentary celebrating video games and gamers.
Here's a list of major cities that we'd have to travel through to go straight from Auburn to El Paso:
Montgomery, AL
Jackson, MS
Monroe, LA
Dallas, TX
El Paso, TX
Anything near those cities would be great to hear about in particular. Of course, feel free to mention any other interesting places in the south... Pretty much all the important video game locations I can think of offhand are in the US are in New York, California, or Washington state.

Well, shucks. There it is, in my folder of 313 Brawl songs. Guess I hadn't gotten to it yet. Heh.
Thanks.

Uh, 'scuse me.
Where did that remix of the Mother shop theme come from? Cause that was fun.
-
EVE Online, and here you go:
Yup. This is exactly what I was thinking of, thanks.
So, this actually happened? For some reason I thought it was fiction. Huh. That's pretty cool, though.
I agree with yangfelli... I don't play any MMOs, but if I did, I think it'd be important that people didn't let ingame items or currency have real value. That way people could choose to RP as a criminal if they wanted, and the only punishment they could receive would be ingame, as per the "laws" of that virtual world.

I was reading this article on Joystiq, and it reminded me of something someone posted here a couple years back.
It was a short story someone had written about a heist he pulled on a ridiculously large amount of in-game currency in some real or fictional MMORPG. He spent months becoming an important and respected player in this virtual world, just to rip off a huge amount of game money from someone who trusted him.
I.. can't remember the name of the story, or really anything that'd assist in a Google search. I believe the MMORPG was space-themed, if that helps. I wonder if anyone else remembers this story, or perhaps knows of other good MMORPG-based stories.

Wake up at 7, do paper route.
Ride bike to rental place, rent chrono trigger when it opened at 8:30.
Start playing at 9:00
Get up from playing at 5 AM.
Pee.
Do paper route.
I may or may not have eaten breakfast.
Sit down and play until 5:30 PM.
Bring back game to rental place, buy game.
Go back home.
Sleep.
At first glance, I expected this post to be a Paperboy joke.

That's not me in the picture, but it's my voice and my editing.
Also, the ET documentary linked to in my sig will probably be the craziest vg-related thing I'll do, ever.
-
There's evidence for both sides, of course.

I don't think we're going to find any "proof" of the incident one way or another, considering all the evidence is crushed and buried under a slab of cement. But I have a feeling people will enjoy our documentary in any case.

Our upcoming film is now officially announced. Please Digg it if you're interested!

You guys running some ads on Facebook? Because I keep noticing that ad as soon as I click on another link, so I haven't been able to visit the site.
I'll check this out.

What? G&W NEVER tossed bacon. The shape of whatever comes out of the pan is clearly NOT bacon. It was always debated as pancakes or sausages.
I used to think it was bacon. But if you check one of the G&W trophies in Melee, you'll find that they are actually sausages.

Am I the only one who thought the music was incredibly repetitive? I mean, I enjoyed it, but it seemed that for 90% of the game you were only listening to two or three different songs.
doo-doo-doo doo doo doooo-doo-doo-deeeee-doo-doo-doo
doo-doo-doo doo doo doooo-doo-doo-doo
...
Anyway. The game overall has been fun, although I haven't put the time into it in order to beat it. I believe I'm ranked 7th at the moment. My roommate's beaten it all the way, though, so I know what's ahead. Maybe that's why I'm in no hurry. (Or maybe I just feel cheated because I'm supposed to be playing Brawl right now.)

Actually, Miyamoto has said that with regard to the Zelda series. The reason for so little development of Link's character is that he wants the player's personality to embody the Link character. I don't have a source with me, but I'd imagine that it came from this book.
I don't mind Link staying a silent protagonist, but I think lots of us who played Twilight Princess believed that voice acting was the final piece missing from our first "realistic" Zelda game.

So does anyone play with the Wiimote/Nunchuck combo? For some reason I always thought it'd be fun to Smash Attack using motion controls, but perhaps that's not the case in practice.

rename G09.mp3 "G09 - Star Wolf [Original] - Star Fox Assault.mp3"
I came.

I never knew how much I loved the Star Wolf theme until I heard this again.
Brawl's rendition is fun, but no one will ever be able to top Star Fox Assault's Star Wolf theme.
Seriously, it's the only reason to play the game.
EDIT: Incidentally... why didn't they just use that same rendition? Honestly, there's no way you can match the orchestrated awesomeness of Assault's Star Wolf, without doing some heavy remixing, which they didn't really do.
-
Out of curiosity, are there any StarTropics references in any part of the game? We all had our games we wanted to see represented somehow, and that was mine.
-
Is Sonic Boom the original, or a remix?

Hey guys look at this cool arrangement.
Okay, admittedly, it's for marching band so you're probably not interested. But I have to whore it out every chance I get, so maybe one day someone will actually play it.
PS: I started redesigning my site and stopped halfway through. That's why it looks so crappy right now. So, uh, don't judge me too harshly! D: I'll get around to fixing it up all pretty once I'm done designing a couple other sites I'm working on.

Ladies and gentlemen, the State of the ReMix...is good.

I'm listening to the Brawl soundtrack, and I have one very
IMPORTANT QUESTION:
Is all the music in Kirby's Air Ride as ridiculously fun as Checker Knights, and is the game worth tracking down to hear the rest of the music? (Or even maybe play too?)
